TL;DR - Leftist protestors are not stupid or crazy. They are actually very frightened of the muslims, communists, cartels, and deeply corrupt politicians who control their cities and states. They perform appeasement displays to them in hopes of not getting hurt.
Of course, Trump and MAGA fight back against the invaders and refuse to appease them. But the protestors only see this as provoking the invaders and then everybody gets severely punished - including them - which is why they have such a vicious hatred for Trump and MAGA.
The Leftist protestors we're seeing at the "NO KINGS" marches are not stupid or crazy. They are very afraid of their invaders and trying desperately to appease them in hopes of not being hurt.
Picture a dog rolling over on its back in front of a more aggressive dog. It is submitting in hopes that the mean dog won't hurt it. That's exactly what the Leftist protestors are doing.
When humans behave this way, it's called Stockholm Syndrome or, more recently, Suicidal Empathy.
What is Stockholm Syndrome?
It's a psychological phenomenon where victims in abusive or hostage situations develop positive feelings, loyalty, and emotional bonds with their captors or abusers and view them as allies for survival.
It's a coping mechanism rooted in trauma. It's characterized by sympathy for the abuser, distrust of authorities, and defending the perpetrators.That's what happened in the 1973 Stockholm bank robbery that it's named for.
What Causes It?
Power Imbalance with a significant threat to survival, making the victim feel utterly dependent.
Leftists have spent their lives being told that fighting back is bad and weapons are bad. They never learned to defend themselves in any way, so now they feel utterly incapable of doing so except in the most infuriating, nasty little passive-aggressive ways (like marching and screaming, marching and screaming, etc.)
But they know very well how ferocious muslims, cartels, and gang members can be. This includes those who control the blue cities where they live - people like Walz, Newscum, etc. So far nothing stops those leaders, not even Trump.
The Leftists know very well what happens to people who try to move against those groups. Like the J6rs. Like the Democrat MN state rep who was assassinated at her home after voting against what Walz wanted. Those are just two examples.
Perceived Kindness: Any small act of kindness or withholding of harm from the captor is magnified.
Democrat leaders suck up to these people and tell them anything they want to hear. And they pay them to protest. And they open the floodgates to let them commit massive fraud. It works.
Isolation: Being cut off from outside perspectives.
Thank the mainstream media for that, plus the Leftists' own refusal to look at any other sources of information.
Prolonged Trauma: An emotionally charged situation that lasts over time.
Leftists have been battling their own families and friends for many years now and struggling to resolve their own cognitive dissonance. They have to fight hard every single day to convince themselves that Right is Wrong and Up is Down. It takes a massive toll.
Positive Feelings: Developing affection, empathy, or loyalty toward the captor.
We've all seen them praising, singing, chanting, kneeling, and kowtowing to people who hate them.
Negative Feelings Toward Authorities: Distrusting police or rescuers.
Check. They feel free to abuse the police/authorities because:

Defending the Abuser: Protecting the captor and their actions.

Shared Identity: Adopting the captor's beliefs or goals.
Obviously. This is why they wear muslim or Palestinian garb - even hijabs - and hammer & sickle t-shirts - and wave foreign flags. "We're the same as you! Don't hurt us!"
Abusive Relationships: Domestic violence, child abuse, sex trafficking, cults, or even unhealthy work environments.
Sounds like normal life in a muslim-run or communist-run country. The Leftists defend all of this because they subconsciously believe these people won't harm them if they do.
Trauma Bonding: A term often used interchangeably with Stockholm Syndrome/Suicidal Epathy, describing the strong bond between victim and abuser.
A bond forged by the abuser's desire for power and control and the victim's desire to not be harmed. It's a match made in Hell but it really does happen, both behind closed doors and out in the open in these huge "protest marches" we're seeing now.
Is It a Mental Disorder? In other words, are these people just crazy or extremely stupid?
No. The condition known as Trauma Bonding or Stockholm Syndrome is not in the DSM (Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) but it is recognized as a complex trauma response. It tracks.
Is there treatment? How do you reach someone like this?
All I could find was psychotherapy (Talk Therapy.) Said to be the only way to process the trauma and understand the submissive bond. Usually needs reinforcement from mental health professionals and support groups.
So, good luck. Very seriously, I think this is why we have not seen more progress in the last ten years.
Most of us assumed that when the stories of the horrific trafficking and abuse of children started coming out, that normal decent people would rise up against it and throw the monsters out.
We failed to understand how extensive this trauma bonding/Stockholm Syndrome really is, because it's all deeply rooted in survival and nothing trumps that.
I've got family members who only get worse and worse and worse the longer this goes on and are probably out marching in pussy hats today.

It's a bit more complicated than appeasement/Stockholm syndrome.
-White Liberals are the ONLY racial/political combination that repeatedly shows an "outgroup preference" in psychological testing. They are self-loathers by nature. Every other combination will show anywhere from a slight to strong ingroup preference.
-White Liberals automatically associate a perceived minority as "noble". A great example is their defense of Muslim culture despite it often being antithetical to their own lifestyle (LGBT, etc). Lots of psychological analysis has been done on this over the years, too much to list here.
Getting beyond the data issue, some opinion formed through my decades of professional work as an armchair psychologist:
-Most white Liberals are mentally weak and lazy coupled with a deep seated sense of inadequacy (Ladies, the last item is why it's so dangerous to date white Liberal men). This creates a problematic dynamic that actively reinforces the mental "cocooning" they're far more likely to do than other political persuasions.
A key element in the life of a modern day white Liberal is the obfuscation of reality. That means carefully curated data sources and constant ingroup reinforcement. These people are exceptional and reinforcing a disassociated world view to one another while equally reinforcing the righteousness of one another. These people are especially susceptible to this kind of peer messaging as I strongly the suspect that the vast majority of white liberals have some level of narcissistic personality disorder (in different flavors and severities of course).
They're not lazy and worthless if they're all telling each other what a wonderful job they're doing by posting memes in every X thread of DJT being a pedophile.
Couple this with the MSM and Dem politicians constantly messaging to these people for years that they ARE wonderful, they ARE righteous. This results in a support group of mentally ill and damaged people with millions in its ranks.
In some ways, this is our greatest challenge, even larger than the Cabal. If this country were to be united, the Cabal's power ends. Baring the use of a biological weapon or nuclear event, it would be trivial for a united U.S. to defeat the Cabal.
The problem is that we're trying to find an antidote to decades of mental conditioning. I've thought about this problem a LOT. I don't have any answer beyond warehousing these people somewhere. The Brits took this approach with Australia. Perhaps Antarctica could be OUR Australia.

I have pondered on this issue too. Lamented, even. Large shifts in culture are beyond the time horizon of a Trump presidency.
The contingent called the Woke won't budge in response to out-group pressure. It will however move en mass in response to their celebrities and opinion makers drifting outside the current Overton window. As a result the discussion of previously forbidden views is considered safe. It must not move too quickly though, else the aberrant opinion setter is ejected. To get a reading on the cultural barometer pay attention to their in-group comedians, such as Colbert. I sometimes wonder if he's been turned.
For the next generation now growing up the Universities are key. Universities hold outsized influence on the ideas held by individuals and populations. True, they are the closest thing in this country to a self-reinforcing institutional mono-culture. But there is a lever on this lever. It is the funding agencies. NSF and NIH.
As a what-if, Imagine an amount of funding equal to the money poured into climate change indoctrination - err, research - but awarded on grants to study how the pre-planned Covid pandemic was pulled off, with bonus money for papers on how to prevent it from ever happening again. This possibility is not that far away, I think. Enough people are themselves or know someone damaged from the jab for the current blanket of denial to break. (I hope.) The officiality of major government grants gives it acceptable "reality". It also taps into the youth's yearning for moral crusades, but directed towards a positive outcome.

Either way, I completely agree with your assessment that it has to be something internal and that out-group pressure will not work. These people won't hesitate to block someone on X for sharing uncomfortable truths and their real world lives aren't much different.
Agreed as well on the institutions. I just don't know how the hell we get back control of them. I think the States need to lead this effort, though that's part of a broader view on my part that we need to return to a more traditional loosely aggregated collection of states. I have long wondered about and researched the true power structure on this planet. Countless books have been written about powerful, secretive families and I think there's a lot of truth to that. But of course, as we get closer to the top of the pyramid, things get very hazy. I have myriad reasons for saying this as someone who has spent a good portion of his free time over the past 30 years researching the non-human intelligence phenomenon and I do sincerely wonder if the top of that pyramid is non-human.

This is a tough one to solve. I have been mulling it over the last week. I think you are right from a certain point of view, but in a less than literal way.
The solution to this problem is an emotion, possibly the most powerful of all emotions: guilt.
The best linchpin, I believe, is the looming fallout over the worldwide Covid vaccine campaign.
The high level perpetrators must be arrested and forced to confess, capitulate, and be given one last chance to express public contrition, before execution.
The mid level perpetrators of doctors, insurance companies, media outlets and more must have their licenses permanently revoked.
And at the bottom, the enforcement Karens, they must be made to feel ashamed for what they have done. A searing, penetrating, shame in having done awful things in the service of awful people running an awful agenda. That they became frightened little monsters who will no longer be tolerated.
Too harsh? They were demanding massive communist style "re-education" camps for us. They must come to understand that that is not okay.
Think of it as mental warehousing. Guilt and shame are the psychological corundum that has the scrubbing power to wear down their protective group identity of phony moral superiority. Once broken, the willing and contrite can be reintroduced into a civilized mindset.

Part of the answer is to remove the fear inducing items. Remove the gangs. Remove the criminals. Remove the Muslims, Remove the drugs. Add jobs and job security. Add Jesus. Slowly shift there information sources (modify the current ones and add new ones). Keep gently helping friends and family.

The 1960s were roots are of what was then called the New Left. The Old Left were the Progressives of the 1910s, developing into the Communist sympathizers of the Red Decade, the 1930s, along with their bedfellows the New Deal Democrats.
The Old Left emerged out of the British Fabien Society which can be traced back to the writings of Marx and before that Comte and Hegel, which take off from Kant. As with many ideas of history you can keep tracing back to antiquity - hello, Plato - without finding a clear beginning. Nonetheless there are notable junctures along the way.
That said, spotting ideological waypoints as I've done only takes you so far. The political ideology of the Left is remarkably fluid. Up until 2020 being anti-corporation was part of the Left's DNA. Yet when Fauci walked on stage suddenly they were all genuflecting obedience to one of the largest corporations in the world, Pfizer, as their personal savior. The 180 degree turnaround was wild to watch.
Getting back on point, the Stockholm syndrome as an explanation does not hit home with me. If seeking a psychological explanation then deep-seated guilt and self-loathing that extends specifically to white race and Western culture is what I'd offer up.
