Recently, Shimen County in Changde, Hunan, faced an extremely rare, record-breaking downpour. Floods, Landslides, Mudslides Hit China, Many Villages Gone, Millions Homeless It far exceeded the standard for extreme heavy rain, pouring down like someone had overturned a giant bucket. In a short time, flash floods and mudslides swept through the area. Rivers like Xieshui surged overnight by nine meters, leaving much of the county suddenly submerged and in chaos.
I think this would be a good opportunity to offer international rescue assistance.

Not possibly a weather weapon we deployed? 20 inches of rainfall in one region in a single day? If that happened in the US people would rightfully be calling for an investigation (won't do anything or go anywhere) but people would instinctively know it wasn't natural.

This event was bad enough. Imagine the havoc if the Three Gorges Dam were to fail.

Can't trust any official numbers coming out of China. They would have reason to manipulate the numbers to cover up their own incompetency and corruption. They release water secretly at night from the dams. It happens every year.

I imagine that water grouping into the tighter spots and creating a huge pool that dumps into the lower areas.
The ones on top of the hills experience no flooding, the ones in the valleys get disproportionate amounts. All depends where they built.

Makes you wonder. Weather manipulation for the benefit of farms was a thing in the early-mid 70's. It was considered risky and unpredictable. And then radio silence.
China doesn't have storm drains. The put grills on top of ground disguising this fact. Those houses are not typical Chinese construction.
The CCP always blames it on the weather, but that is only part of the problem. They know in advance that bad weather is coming. But they do not reduce the water levels in the dam reservoirs to act as a buffer. This is especially true of the 3 Gorges. To release water in advance of heavy rain reduces the amount of generated electricity capacity, so they keep the water levels up to make profit. Then when the water levels are too high and the integrity of the dams are threatened, they secretly release water from the dams in the middle of the night. No one is notified because that would put the government on the hook to pay compensation to those flooded out of their homes and businesses. This happens at night when people are sleeping and they are completely unprepared and washed away. The actual death tolls from the flooding are never reported. That would make the government look bad.
The weather is a very convenient scapegoat for poor governance and poor construction quality. Infrastructure fails because of tofu dreg construction, but it's always blamed on record weather. Billions every year are poured into drainage projects, but every year the cities flood. Where did all the money go? It certainly didn't go towards proper drainage infrastructure. The CCP's systemic corruption gains are exchanged for people's lives and livelihoods.
This happens every year in China during the flood season. The CCP often will deliberately flood one area to save another if what is being saved is a CCP pet project. A couple of years ago they flooded large areas around the capital in order to save Beijing and Xi's personal flagship project, Xiong'an New Area, where hardly anyone lives - it's almost a ghost city. Even estimates of the numbers of deaths from those floods are grossly underestimated. These stories often are censored quickly by state media Few people in China even know what is happening to their neighbors right next door in another nearby county. The lives of their citizens are sacrificed for political expedience and profit.
Well written comment. Really paints a picture of just how evil and wicked the CCP actually is. They put on a pretty good facade to the outside world, especially to the people who aren’t awake to any of what’s really going on in the world. The true NPCs think China is a futuristic ideological city on a hill.
What really gets me is all the people that believe the CCP propaganda put out there on YouTube and TikTok. The CCP pays American or European influencers to come to China and make videos singing the praises of China. These people are called white monkeys and they are nothing more than CCP mouthpieces posing as travel bloggers. Their scripts are all pretty much the same - almost word for word. Say for instance, the CCP picks a city they want to highlight and Western influencers make a video using CCP talking points. All the videos appear the same. It's total BS. Those that don't know jack about Communist China easily buy it - China is living in the future, it's so advanced, no crime or homeless people, America bad, etc. China is the land of lies, fakes, and facades. They are not as great and advanced as they try to buffalo the world into believing. There is the CCP propaganda China, and then there is the real China. They are not the same. Yes, they are truly evil and wicked.
