Imagine being on a "team" of thousands of co-workers, without any team cohesion or purpose. It would be a travesty. Teams are carefully built up, like orchestras, to perform a function depending on harmony and melody. This META arrangement is more like, "Here are instruments. All of you get in a big, big room and produce music." You get cacophony. Having higher intelligence correlates with a natural inclination to be creative, and a desire for creative freedom that inclines a person toward being an individual contributor. That sort of person being shoved into an undifferentiated browsing herd sees the experience as Hell, and either changes it or leaves it.
META seeks to create Artificial Intelligence, but has no respect for the real thing. Think about that. Boeing thought they were just tweaking an old friend by making a new MCAS derivative. But they made a psycho killer because they weren't aware of what they were doing.
