Uh, I wouldn’t call it a right. A preference, sure. Just as the post explains, what if it happens in the middle of the night and only a male doctor is on duty? The context of the post is pregnancy, not a routine scheduled OBGYN visit.
A retired doctor in my small fellowship is so calloused away from protecting modesty that I just don’t think something is right, plus he’s a doomer, thankfully the other group members are based.
