Wow, I wish I could share the sunset I just saw. It’s very hazy here, no clouds just hazy like it’s going to rain. But no storms around. The sun was bright orange and got more vibrant as it went down. I’m a sunset fanatic especially over water. Still beautiful just over the Carolina pines.
I watch my sunsets over the fields. Right now it’s corn fields.
That’s cool. Even though I’ve always wanted to live at the coast, realty we can’t afford that and at 59 don’t want to get in debt at this stage in life. My husband has always wanted to live remotely in the middle of a corn field, not me. I recently told him I think I’d be happy in the middle of a farm or trees. Funny how your perspective changes as your views of the world change. I’ll always be a beach girl but I’m finally happy in the country. I’m surrounded by corn fields and love cotton fields in the fall.

What’s crazy is the liberals calling people fascist and they don’t have a clue who’s actually the fascist. The education system has really screwed up so many people. Hopefully more will wake up.
for years I am to the point that I just tell them I a Jew and they are antisemitic. I don't make many friends but when someone starts talking about how they hate trump I can not just listen. the last one was my youngest kids teammate on his bowling team. This one is a prior military and has TDS.
He has not shown up with kid for a month and I could care less about it. These parents talk on the social media stuff and I am sure I have a reputation by now but I don't care about that either. The bowling alley is making some weird moves on my kid and I do not like it but we are hanging in there.
There has to be relief to this at some point and if there is not, I will always be me and I wish others would stop being quiet and thinking they are noble for doing so.
Even if they start saying I am not a Jew.. I will tell them who are you to tell me who I identify as?
They lost in such a BIG way if people would stop being so quiet and stupid. :)
Has anyone else noticed that the search feature seems to be broke right now. I am getting "no results were found" even when I search for terms like America or Trump that we obviously know there are plenty of posts about.
I know Catsfive released his new search tool recently, is that supposed to be replacing the .win search? Maybe it would be a good idea to stick it in the side bar or leave it up as a pinned post to make it easier to find.
Just tried it, several different searches. Nothing works (" No results were found").
Just tried it with America, got nothing. I’m always on my phone here. I can’t see a side bar.
If you tap on the blue bar towards the top of the page where your username and everything is, it will make the sidebar appear. Tap the blue bar again and the side bar will go away.

Anyone else seeing cicada killer wasps in their area?
About a week ago I noticed two or three buzzing around our side yard, today there are at least a dozen or more all buzzing around to and fro.
According to a quick search we're not expecting cicadas this summer in the DC area.
Pretty cool to watch though, they seem to fly search patterns then occasionally go off pattern with another wasp for a little tango. Like they're protecting their search area or verifying each other as both CKWs. Doesn't look like they fight, but maybe just breaking the monotony of the search.
they did not kill me but I had a wasp nest inside my half height storage shed. last week I opened the lid and one came up and stung me straight in the nipple. it was like being hit and at first I thought a snake jumped out and bit me.
I was hoping for super powers after that sting but still no super powers.
don't think they were the cicada variety but I hear the regular ones stings are worse than the cicada variety.
Yikes! I've been stung on the foot stepping on a bee, and inner thigh sitting on a bee. But the nipple?! Oy!
The cicada killers don't seem to care about people from what I've read. And also from experience, sitting outside watching them they pay me no mind.
Now that you mention it I haven’t heard cicadas in NC. Last summer there was a larger amount in some regions. I’m not aware of these wasps you are talking about. This past spring we had a lot of yellow jackets everywhere. I’ve never seen until the fall around here until this year. I believe they are messing around with every living creature on earth. Probably goes much further than the Gates ticks.
I'm 54 and have seen cicada season a number of times in those years, and I'd never heard of these wasps either until last year or the year before.

59, cicadas are something I have always loved living in the south and rural country area. In years past they’ve been so loud I could hear them inside the house.
Does it seem like they were worse decades ago?
Seems to me they were in my younger years where they were really loud but haven't seemed to be in later years. Could just be their cycles though.
I have always lived in the country with woods around the property. Other than a busy road it’s farmland and woods on each side and behind my house. They have always been loud in the summer. I’m going to try to listen when I go outside this weekend. Thankfully I love the sound, it’s home. It’s not something you hear at the coast. I’m hearing fire flies are on the decline. Haven’t noticed because I’m only out at night to take the dog out. Too many bugs and coyotes in my area to be out very long. Don’t see coyotes but I can hear them. Honestly it’s probably from all the toxins in the environment. Or people like Gates.

I love this! Both my nieces went to UNC. They are highly brainwashed, especially the oldest. It’s my husband’s family, his other sister talks to us about that entire family. They never missed any function at church. Didn’t watch a lot of TV. Then the family changed once the first niece went to college. I’ll just say one is probably sad she’s white. And, all that goes along with that. She’s probably not happy she’s from the south and has patriotic country relatives. It’s cool, we aren’t happy we have liberal relatives. I don’t want to give too much details. You never know if liberals (you know) are here spying. I haven’t told any family on either side this is my regular “news” station.
