My little grandkids taught me everything I really need to know about weather. They look out the window - if it is raining or snowing they will wear pants - if it is not raining or snowing they will wear shorts.

In the 90s they had the same heat maps and a 90+ day was yellow AND A 105+ day was red? Now they toss red up there for 80 degrees

after 90 degrees ' it don't matter. It is HOT. I overlooked my own rules to play in a golf tournament where heat index was107. I won't be doing that again.
Houston area has almost stopped putting the actual temperature in weather forecast and instead puts the heat index for a more dramatic effect. Pushes that global warming/climate change agenda to see those triple digits up there. They also use a weather station on Bush intercontinental airport. Nothing like temperature on concrete surrounded by jets.

Exactly! That's why they pull out heat index for temperature forecast and changed the colors from yellow/orange to red. Visual dramatics. They also changed the color on they radar for rainfall. The darker the colors, the more dramatica. We're seeing rain here where I'm at. Radar showed bright red directly over my town, indicating heavy rain. Concrete Is still dry under my vehicles. It's just a drizzle.
I have noticed lately that they are showing the "heat index feels like" temp, and not the actual temp.
Which of course is bullshit unto itself, but still just pretty hysterical how they do it.
I remember when "El Niño" and "El Ninio" or whatever came out, I was like, oh wow! I didn't know there was any sort of extreme long term weather pattern. I thought it was just weather.
Now this year, they are saying it's a SUPER El Niño!!! What is that? I think it's just weather. But more of it perhaps. Like always.
