Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

If you are the praying type please say a prayer for me. I don’t like asking this when we probably have a prayer request of some sort. I’ve only asked the church I visit when at the coast and now here. There’s such a large Christian influence here and it’s very comforting. I posted a gallbladder question a few days ago & got helpful responses. Thanks
I’m having the surgery on July 29th. I’ve been struggling with nausea almost two months. Now I’m having indigestion also. The only food that doesn’t bother me is carbs, basically anything with sugar. I’ve worked so hard loosing weight over the last few years. Since April I’ve gained 16 pounds. I’m furious at my self for not being stronger. I’ve been a sugar addict probably since I was a teenager. I’ve been so good about not eating it or bringing it in the house. I’m just tired of feeling sick. Most here know I’ve eaten carnivore for almost three years. I have occasional had a sweet treat but nothing like this. Even eating fruit makes me feel sick. I think because my body started healing from not eating plants and introducing them back it’s not been good. I can eat tomatoes, hopefully I can find some local this week. Most fruits make my mouth burn. Lettuce makes me sick, guess that’s good with what’s going on with lettuce. I believe I’m allergic to most plants. I’m watching people’s stories on No Carb Life on YouTube and several people are saying they have learned they are allergic to most plants. Anyway if you don’t mind keep me in your prayers. You don’t even have to reply. Most don’t have a lot of time and we come here to keep up with the happenings in the world. I appreciate each of you.
continuing prayers, and no need to be too hard on yourself, with the gallbladder issue liver might be a little stressed, and after your surgery, you can see how your liver does. Maybe you can naturally lose some weight. right now, bile would not be flowing so well right now, and this could affect how any food gets digested, whether tough, fibrous plants or sugars
Thanks for the prayers. My daughter said the same thing about what’s going on inside. She’s a nurse and had hers removed three years ago. She had terrible pain and just occasional nausea. I’ve had pain maybe three times over the past three years. I appreciate your advice.
Now that the World Cup is over, I realized that if I want to see guys struggle to score, I can see that at my local bar.
😂🤣
OMG that’s hilarious 😂 I don’t watch sports but I’ve enjoyed the visiting foreigners reactions to America.
I think it was sometime last week Glenn Beck said at this point the Tyler Robinson case was an IQ test. I agree. The first 4:45 of this vid tells me Glenn is failing the test.

When the parents didnt take the stand to contest any aspect of the prosecution's case - it tells you everything.
Love Baron.
This increasingly feels like the whole scamdemic; no questions allowed. Shut up and accept the approved narrative.
Ah … Lammy’s Ministry of Justice is taking legal action to stop citizens seeing 7 years of foreign national convictions, broken down by nationality and crimes, including rape, grooming, child abuse, murder and manslaughter.
The Information Commissioner has ordered the data to be released. But Lammy is spending taxpayers’ money fighting to keep it hidden.
He fears the truth is so explosive that we can’t be allowed see it. This is the state censorship of an er … inconvenient truth.
But we aren’t allowed to speculate, the narrative must be protected 💣
Who is Lammy?
The Evil Minister of Justice in England. A Black man who seems to truly hate the Native Brits..
Ah, so “anyone in government”.
Time for a cartoon chuckle:

They are stomping on one of my favorite movies. Growing up in the south (in the 70s) Gown With the Wind was on Sunday many Sunday afternoons and I watched it every time. Scarlett O’Hara is my all time favorite character. It’s probably the movie I’ve watched most because of reruns and three channels. They can go to Hell with their agenda’s. Let’s not forget those black actors were amazing. Before that film white men dressed in black face makeup to play black people. It was a big stepping stone for the black actors. Sorry I get made when they mess with the south.
Everybody loves Just Dance Vance
(that last one almost made me black out, no kidding)

These are great! Thanks for the Monday morning chuckle!
230 troops discharged for refusing COVID-19 vaccine have rejoined, Pentagon says. By Patricia Kime Friday, Jul 17, 2026
I hope your day goes well.
I hope your coffee is just right. I hope you have a good hair day today. I hope traffic runs smoothly for you.
I hope you do ten toe touches today. I hope your relationships improve, even if they are already great. I hope you have reasons to chuckle off and on today, and even a belly laugh or two. I hope whatever was trying to annoy you fails and you just shrug it off. I hope that thing on your to-do list gets done today. I hope your enemies step in gum today. :)
Blessings to you dear TP! 🙏🤍
Nice Morning Toast my fren. I thank you and will leave you with this:
As you slide down the banister of life, May the splinters never point the wrong way.
😸
Love this! Have a great day! :)
Made me smile. Thank you!

Special Cells Help Brain and Gut Communicate BY BRIAN THOMAS, PH.D.
https://www.icr.org/article/special-cells-help-brain-gut-communicate/
After investing so much time and effort to understand how body parts interact, scientists keep turning up new and unforeseen connections—often when they ask the right questions. New and strange developments inspired a team to ask wacky questions about a unique white blood cell called Ly6Chi. And they found some profound answers.
Publishing in Cell Reports, German and U.S. scientists asked why the same cells showed up both in mouse brain and gut.1 They also asked why mouse brains stopped certain activities after antibiotics erased the helpful bacteria from mouse gut contents. The team knew Ly6Chi cells were present in a region of the brain’s hippocampus called the dentate gyrus (DG) that builds new cells as mice learn new things. This also happens in other mammals including man. What’s going on with these cells?
Ly6Chi cells belong to the immune system where they help immune surveillance. When mice or men get an infection, these cells also help activate body defenses. New results demonstrate that these special cells help the gut and brain communicate.
The study authors wrote, “Adult neurogenesis has been linked to hippocampus-dependent cognitive function, and it is required for memory resolution and for proper pattern separation in the DG of the hippocampus.”1 Ly6Chi cells play a key role in the DG, and therefore in memory and pattern resolution.
But they also play a key role in the gut. The Cell Reports authors wrote, “Therefore, we hypothesized the presence of a common mediator, which signals from the periphery to the brain, and that this messenger is affected by antibiosis and can be restored by exercise and probiotic treatment.”1 Hypothesis confirmed: Ly6Chi cells are that mediator.
The research team found that antibiotics zapped Ly6Chi cells from the gut and elsewhere, but probiotics brought them back into action. Mice that consumed probiotics or exercised on a running wheel reinvigorated their Ly6Chi cell population and hippocampus brain activity.
Only five years ago, few would have imagined such a complicated array of functions for just one cell. This research confirms that what enters the mouth to feed or starve gut microbes also influences brain function. It reveals that specific cells travel from the gut to tell the brain what’s going on with the microbes down there.
You never know what remarkable discovery waits for an inquisitive mind to ask the right question—even a wacky one.

ThanQ fren. This report is a welcome read. Started using Actimel (DanActive in USA/Canada) here in the UK back when C19 became a thing.
Psalm 62:5-8.
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. 7 On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
Thank you for your faithfulness yldngo! Amen! 🙌
Did not Jesus say we would do stuff like He did? Did not Jesus tell evil they are wrong? He did not look at evil and keep silent. He would see people who are trying to be good and help them be better, but if he was in front of Evil.. He would rebuke it.
After we rebuke evil we can be silent and mediate on Him being our refuge.
Evil doing Evil right to your face loves you for being silent. This is why we have become so complacent and complicit.
The Psalmist is waiting for God in silence not being silent in the face of evil. The Psalmist has respect for God rather than a fear of evil. Because of that respect for God it is stated "I shall not be shaken." Jesus submitted to the will of His Father and silently, like a sheep to the slaughter, let evil murder Him. In that act of trusting His Father He won. This passage is in perfect harmony with Jesus' actions and is applicable for us to win also. Complacency and being complicit in confronting evil are rooted in not respecting the God described in this Psalm on His terms.
