There is a time to put selfishness away and let your friend end her suffering. My best friend of thirteen years was suffering horribly. It broke my heart, but I did the humane thing and released her soul.
So sad. I had a purebred golden lab from six weeks old until she was 13-1/2 years old. She had been thru a lot. At that time I was single and she was my everything. Unfortunately, she contracted Bell’s Palsy and lost an eye. She became 90% deaf in both ears, and total arthritic in her legs. I would come home from work and I could see the pain she was in. It broke my heart immensely, but I made the decision to put her down. One of my toughest decisions ever. Fren, sometimes we have to think of their feelings and not our selfishness to keep them alive.
