Good point. How many women go primitive camping? No makeup, pee in the woods, etc. My stepmom and I went on an week-long wagon trip on the Oregon Trail, slept in a tent. Her best friend's response, "WHY?" Imagine her being suddenly forced into it.
Ha! If the manure hits the fan I have a way to make some $. I have a van I use as a gallery for the cuckoo clocks I make. It has solar panels and a real plug. I could drive around (I know, gas) and charge for women to blow dry their hair.
This is exactly what saved me from falling victim to the mental illness in my family. Insisting on being truthful to myself. It took courage because I had to stand up to my Mom and her weapons. Thanks to truth my weapon was clarity.
Calling out "equity" by name -- how refreshing! I receive several regular newsletters of grant opportunities for artists and small businesses. It's a game now for me to open them and see if a white female -- forget a white male -- would be eligible. Nope, every last one either requires or states they give preference to people of color who identify as this that or the other. And some add that the sadder the story the better. So "inclusive."
This is an interesting way to explain it to my leftie in laws. Just by leaving a record of being here, on this site, and who I follow on social media, the fact that I've been to a Trump rally, and make a cuckoo clock with the Betsy Ross stars on it, would make me subject to persecution under the regime that occupies the White House, as they have already shown us.
Today I'm boxing up a cuckoo clock commissioned for the M/Sgt Gary Gordon Center in Maine, an American Flag engraved with the Preamble and the Pledge. You may remember him, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, from Black Hawk Down. I haven't consumed and movies or MSM for decades, so I read up on him and found this:
"Gary Gordon was a native of Lincoln, ME. When he was 11 years old, he checked out the Medal of Honor Pamphlet from the Lincoln Memorial Library. He read General Douglas MacArthur’s words in this pamphlet, “your guidepost stands out like a 10-fold beacon in the night: Duty. Honor. Country.” Gordon built his way of life around this doctrine."
Made the words, "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" come to mind.
I have very dear Finnish friends here in America. They've been here for 30 years, came to be Americans, not turn America socialist. MAGA. They invited us over to their farm to celebrate Finland entering NATO. He gave us a history lesson, pointing out how afraid Finland has been of poking the bear. This has been long-awaited. I didn't interject on their day of celebration that things have changed. But they are coming to a sausage roast at my farm this week, so I'll open up that discussion. Russia has been the wolf for so long I can understand it being difficult to reframe that, even though they are awake.
He was your rudder in this Storm. You were wise to turn here, to like- minded souls. If this helps... I suppose one could say I'm the "conspiracy theorist" between me and my husband. I report what I learn to him. I find I make no judgement on things until I come here. I know the anons here have such a great grrasp of what has come before and there are so many ears to the ground that I lean on these minds to vet what I hear. That's the role your husband was filling for you. So read and find a few posters you feel speak the truth. That will help you gain a bit of firm footing, support. So glad you shared!
As the only traditional news outlet for conservatives, FOX has been the place for conservatives (those who are too stuck in their ways to find alternative news sources) and RINO's. I've wondered why Tucker has been allowed to stay on so long with his red pilling. Now that he has revealed so much, it will be interesting to see what happens to his audience once he lands elsewhere. The wind has been sucked out of the MSM, FOX's audience grew, now perhaps we're looking at the great awakening of the alternative --We the People-- media. This doesn't surprise me. Almost seems like it was a plan.
In my mother's generation, born in 1934, it was common to have servants, even for the middle class. Growing up my mom's family had a cook and a man who acted as butler, took care of the horses, drove the kids to school, etc. and a housekeeper as well. My cousins had a woman who was a nanny and housekeeper all through their growing up years. She was dear to them. My Aunt was a full time mom. (And lovely in every way. Mrs. Beaver in real life!) These weren't wealthy people in a big fancy house.
Thank you I was being flippant. And it is to your point about women coming up with solutions in the Depression.
