This stupidity again?
In medieval Germany, including Frankfurt where the Rothschild family lived, houses did not have street numbers and were instead identified by visible symbols chosen by families to mark their homes and businesses. These house signs were practical identifiers—often animals, tools, colors, or simple shapes—and a shield was the most common symbol used because it was easy to recognize and widely understood. The Rothschild name comes from a house marked with a red shield (“rot” meaning red and “schild” meaning shield), and its origin is purely logistical and descriptive. It has nothing to do with shielding the Vatican or protecting any institution from criticism or accountability; that claim is a modern reinterpretation with no historical foundation.
