I live in the UK and really needed this just now as things go from bad to worse here. I believe things will get worse before they get better but that this is something we have to go through as the true nature of the ruling class is slowly but surely revealed.

I don't think so. I can only comment on the UK but I've been saying since last April that there's no need for them to make it mandatory - it will become effectively mandatory via coercion. 'Sure, we can't force you to take it but good luck going shopping, going to a bank, going to any recreational event and applying for a job without it. The same people pushing this own all the banks and the major retailers anyway.
