I think Trump has made a good strategic choice. Truth Social will be big in part because it will be the main platform where you can catch him and his circle. Twitter is already very large. So Free speech advocates have a very large portion of the social networking infrastructure. We know that in free speech situations, our views dominate because they just make sense and resonate well with most people.

I haven't even come across any stories about KKK cross burnings in years. When I was young we would read or hear of one every few weeks or months. Even the guys with the tiki torches weren't actually bothering anyone. They were just having a demonstration in a public space.

To be fair, a lot of people had questions about Trump in the beginning who have turned into ardent supporters. Could JD Vance be one of these? Trump had to have known all this past. Why would he endorse Vance? I honestly was expecting Trump to endorse either Mandel or Gibbons.

I think the satire is done in part to get the point out while bypassing the Twitter censors, plus its just entertaining as heck.
