Adam - Man

Seth - (is) appointed (Eve said "God has appointed me a son...")

Enosh - mortal

Kenan - sorrow

Mahalalel - The blessed God

Jerod - shall come down

Enoch - Teaching

Methuselah - His death shall bring (Year he died the flood began)

Lamech - (the) despair(ing)

Noah - comfort/rest

If you're interested in prophecy, consider that the Christian gospel has been in a Jewish genealogy since Moses wrote it in roughly 1500 BC. Given that Noah is the last common ancestor we all have, that means we all have the gospel in our genealogy. Kind of cool and couldn't have been forged as the Jews themselves killed the Messiah, and even Jesus's followers didn't understand what happened immediately afterward.

If you're trusting in your own works like prayers, wearing crosses, etc. then you're going to Hell. Nothing we do can impress God or fix our sin problem.

The only righteousness good enough to pass His perfect judgment is His own, which He gave to us through the blood of Jesus Christ. Gotta trust in the blood and nothing else. We're to rest in His finished work. His last words on the cross were "It is finished!", meaning the work is complete. We can't add to it. We're evil, we can't do good in God's eyes. Read Romans 3 if you don't believe it - I thought I was a good person until Romans 3 told me God doesn't think any person is good. But trusting in the blood of Jesus alone gives so much more peace than stepping into eternity hoping you did good enough...

What about the red text where Jesus says he's the same as the God from the Old Testament?

KJV is God's word to English speaking people. No coincidence he preserved it in English for a time when the whole world would be rushing to speak it.

The idea that his Word was lost over time is just stupid. If God can speak the world into existence and loves it enough to give his only Son as a ransom for the world's sins, how would he allow his Word to be lost? Why give your Son to then allow your ultimate gift to be hidden?

Satan caused Eve to sin by twisting God's words, and today Bible "scholars" sit around twisting God's words saying the same thing, "Hath God truly said...?". The only time Jesus rejoiced in the Bible was when God was making fools of the religious elite.

Do you understand what you're saying? Antichrist means in place of Christ. Q being Christ, in place of Jesus, would literally make Q the antichrist.

The antichrist will unite humanity in Revelation(Not "RevelationS"...) through peace as a rider on a white horse. It sounds like you're framing Q as the antichrist but believe it's Christ, as the whole world will think when the antichrist comes on the scene.

Haha that got me too. DNA, the balance of the 4 subatomic forces, magnetic field balancing, the infrastructure of a "simple" human cell, etc. all requires far more programming and complexity than anything we could ever think to understand.

Just look at CRISPR, mRNA vaccines, etc. to see what happens when we think we can mess with God's "code".

I liked all the rhetorical questions that are easily answered with a Bible. Makes sense though as a Bible undermines the whole post. It was like a bad fanfiction of a made-up Q-Christ.

But yeah, the idea that the God who speaks the universe into existence needs to "learn to code" to reach out to sinners got me.

The book is called Revelation, singular. It defines itself right from the start as THE Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Adolf Hitler was involved in a lot of Satanism and witchcraft, and credited the supernatural launch of his political career to a mandrake ritual in his hometown. He even brought the seat of Satan to Berlin. Obviously God knew it wasn't time for the tribulation, antichrist kingdom, and 2nd advent quite yet, but Satan not knowing always needs an antichrist prepared, and I believe Hitler was his man at the time.

The Nazis killed 11 million, largely behind closed doors. We've killed over 60 million unborn out in the open, and even celebrate it. Germany's evil spread around the world physically in the form of war, but our evil has spread around the world spiritually through corrupt values, practices, media, etc.

Reading Romans 1 I fear we are living through a progression of God's judgment as a nation, but pray that we'll still be given space to repent of what we've done and turn back to Him. He gave Israel so many chances in the OT and sometimes they did turn and received mercy, so I'm holding out hope.

He was an idiot as Obamas VP as well, but they quit letting him talk very early on because he kept saying stupid stuff. Biggest change js just his mouth being open.

I came and looked for any doctrine and/or the gospel since it's your hub for believers, expecting to find it, and did not see either doctrine or the gospel on your Discord. It's not Biblical Christian fellowship. I wanted to check before making comments as I was hoping my inclinations were incorrect.

PowTimesTwo 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not about me, it's about being consistent with the Bible. The Bible says there's nothing more deceitful than a man's heart, so the last thing I'm going to go off of is my heart. Jesus did not "bring everyone together", but he came to divide even families, by His own Words! The Biblical basis for fellowship is doctrine and obedience to the Word, but you don't define any doctrine.

What you're saying sounds positive, but it's either not based on the Bible, or things you say flat out disagree with it.

I did, it's not a Biblical place at all. It looks like a Christian forum from Reddit.

Just in general with these prayer threads... What's with the hyper-emphasis on love and light and the poor proofreading? I do think we should pray daily for our country and the world, but I don't think these vague positivity inclined emotes with Biblical phrasings are the way to go about it. It seems charismatic and new-age-y. What doctrines are we agreeing on? What Bible truths are the millions of patriots bringing to light?

The gospel of the kingdom has been put on hold until Jesus comes to reign over the world from Jerusalem for 1000 years. What we should be praying for is the spread of the gospel of salvation, that sinners would repent and trust in Jesus's blood as payment for their sin.

The world will unite under a false peace and give itself to the Antichrist. This idea that "God wins" through the Q-plan isn't Biblical. Sure, I hope the Q-plan is real and we get more time to peaceably share the gospel, but this isn't Revelation or anything like that. Ultimately the world can't be saved until Jesus comes back Himself to rule.

A lot of these problems aren't only solve-able by God purging them, but are sins that require repentance. The only "sin" in this prayer tied to repentance is "lack of love" three times, but the Biblical sins of envy, malice, hatred, lust, and murder you ask God to remove from us, but those are the ones requiring repentance and acknowledgement of our wretchedness.

I get the sentiment, but this isn't a Biblical prayer. I think love is being overemphasized at the expense of truth. God values Holiness over love. God loved his Son, but His holiness necessitated He forsake Jesus on the cross when He was made into our sin.

Psychology is largely projection. With most diseases there's an objective test to diagnose, with (most) psychology it's subjective guesswork under the premise that the "brain chemistry" in the most complex machine on the planet is somehow off(without taking a "chemical sample" to test), yet the only affect on the performance of the finely tuned machine of the mind is somehow limited to behavioral.

I am not Roman Catholic. What are Christians "saved" from? We're saved from the power of sin now, the penalty of sin at judgment, and the presence of sin in eternity.

We're saved from Hell. God's judgment. God's wrath. Jesus suffering from our wrath accomplishes nothing - our wrath is corrupt and full of sin and doesn't necessitate fulfilling. God's wrath is pure and righteous, however, and it must be paid for God to be just. Thankfully, He is merciful and provided One who could pay an eternal sin debt in an afternoon so we don't have to spend an eternity burning trying to satisfy God's wrath towards us.

I disagree with you on most of these other topics as well, but the gospel message is really all that's worth debating at this point. I think we've both presented our beliefs and I'll leave it at that.

PowTimesTwo 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes, they're the same in the sense that we have three parts: soul, body, and spirit. God does too: Soul(Father), body(Jesus), and spirit(Holy Spirit).

What we suffer in our lives is the wrath of man and the wrath of Satan, permitted by God. What Jesus suffered on the cross was the wrath of God through the hands of men. Therefore, Jesus takes all of God's wrath, paying the whole price. If we suffered any it'd be an incomplete gift/justification.

God isn't treating himself inconsistently, as His wrath is because of us, not Jesus. Jesus chooses to take the cup of wrath in the garden as our last Adam, a kinsman redeemer as in Ruth. It is God's righteousness given to us through Jesus Christ.

This premise shouldn't be awkward, as God's Words are given to us through the words and writings of men via the Holy Spirit, so His wrath can come through men as well and be paid by His body via Jesus Christ. Also, Jesus and the Father did interact as separate entities while still both being God. Jesus prayed, did His Father's will, resisted temptation using scripture, etc.

Not weird at all. It humbles the heart, and humble hearts are a good thing in relationships. I hope it's a blessing for both of you.

Most people will say they think they're a good person, but this movie is God treating Jesus as if He was any of us. The scariest thing in the world for sinners is that God is good and just.

The Bible says there is none who seeks after Him and none who does good, yet God subjected his own Son to this for us, knowing that almost everyone would reject the free gift. It's a love we can't empathize with, a love that exceeds our capacity. I can't imagine even an eternity will be enough to fully comprehend it.

PowTimesTwo 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can convince yourself you don't have sin, but it's not going to work with God when you die and your life is before Him. The only way to escape the judgment you and everyone else deserves is to put your faith in blood of Jesus Christ - there is no other way, no other religion. The only way God can show us the mercy we need without compromising his perfect justice is to give us His own righteousness through a kinsman, God in human form, Jesus.

The common spirit uniting all these religions is not based in truth or wisdom, but is of Satan. God is a divider, Satan is a uniter. If groups around the world who deny Jesus is Messiah have a common spirit, it's the spirit of antichrist.

Reading this again I think the day of formal worship isn't as critically important as you do. Christians don't need to keep sabbath, moons, etc anymore. Christ is our rest and in fulfilling that part law he exceeds it in that everyday we rest in His finished work, as he fulfilled and magnified all other laws. Praise the Lord.

PowTimesTwo 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree. I believe the Catholic Church has killed more Christians than any other institution, attempts to change God's word through false Bible translations, has in history had several types and trial runs of antichrist, and will ultimately supply the false prophet of the antichrist religion.

The Bible doesn't really spend time explaining or defending itself. God simply speaks and the hearts of the hearers dictate the interpretation.

It's a dangerous book in that regard. It's written in such a way so that a soft heart will become softer and receive the gospel, yet a proud heart will find criticism and grow harder.

We like to think our intellect dictates our thoughts and opinions, but really our brains simply justify our hearts. Kind of explains how a math genius can be a baby-murdering Moloch-worshipping Biden voter. They're wrong, but not because they're stupid.
