Holy hell I do the same thing! I workout until failure though (can't beat your meat if your body feels like it's gonna split itself on an atomic level) and actually lost alot of weight. I often joke to my friends that I "Can't titty fuck anymore. My sugar tits are becoming muscle tits.". Got more stamina and energy.

I agree with #8. Like the Whitesnake song goes: You don't know what you got till it's gone.
