I completely understand and respect what you're saying. If you're an astronomy geek, then I hope you'd be interested in trying to TRULY understand what we're looking at when we look into the sky, because everything NASA tells us is verifiably and provably false.
Are there objects in the sky? Yes. Are they lights? Yes. Can we see them with our own eyes and telescopes? Absolutely. Are they physical places? Most likely not.
The more people you have that work together to triangulate the position of the sun or moon, the further off the triangulation is. This is because they are not physical objects in the sky, but rather reflections or projections into our atmosphere.
But since you're an astronomy aficionado, have you ever used your telescope to zoom in on different stars? If so, then I'm sure you're well aware that every single star pulses with its own light and geometric shapes and patterns. They are absolutely stunning to look at and they look nothing like what any of us were taught in school.
My friend, I know that you don't know me, but I promise you on the very fabric of my soul that there is truth to the flat earth, infinitely more proof than there is of a globular earth (of which there is literally zero proof, if you don't believe that, then I highly encourage you to start digging in and doing your own research).

I want to preface by saying: the unfortunate thing about the way people interact with the flat earth conversation is that when we're unable to provide specific answers about what happens above our heads, beneath our feet, or beyond the shoreline of Antarctica, the person asking the question tends to roll their eyes and assume that because we don't have these answers it means that our logic or research is inaccurate (not saying you would do this, I just want to stress that point).
All we can do is speculate about places we're unable to access.
So, what produces the lights? There's no way anyone can give you a 100% response to that question, because we're simply unable to go that high and investigate further.
But have you ever zoomed in on a star with a telescope or a super zoom camera? They do not look like we've been told they do. I guarantee you've never seen pictures like this in school:
Unfortunately, if you Google or useDuck Duck Go to search for "zoomed in star," they only show you 2-3 images like this among tons of photos of stars we've seen all our lives, but people all over the world have used their cameras and telescopes to zoom in on stars and we can see that each and every star has its own color, shapes, and personality. They're pulsing orbs of light in the sky that are constantly moving and shifting and pulsing with light and geometric patterns.
Seriously, it's incredible! I wish I had access to some more pictures right now so I could show you, but I'd be happy to go digging later.
What we do know about the stars is that they circle around Polaris in perfect circles. If you were to go outside tonight at 10pm and make a little star chart of where all the stars are in the sky, then go out the same night 1 year later (or 10 years later) at the same time, all of those stars will be in the EXACT same position. Why? Because the stars, along with the sun and moon, circle above us in perfect circles. They revolve around the magnetic north pole.
We do not move. We are stationary. There are no tests that have ever proven that the earth is moving or spinning. None.

Planets used to be called "wandering stars" until recently in human history.
The only thing we can definitively say about stars and "planets" is that they're lights in the sky. We can look at them with our eyes and with advanced optics, but space itself (as it has been described to us) simply does not exist. Look at Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons and you can see with your own eyes that they're their own light sources. They aren't reflecting light from the sun, that makes no sense. They're lit evenly from edge to edge, which isn't what happens when you light a sphere (sphere's have a hot spot that fades out toward the edges).
No one has ever been to space. There are no photographs of other "planets." Look into the moon landing and you'll easily be able to tell how fake those missions were. It's absolutely absurd.
To summarize, I'm not saying that what you see up in the sky isn't there, but it isn't what NASA tells us. NASA has been caught lying to us thousands of times. They are not trustworthy even in the slightest and they offer no actual proof of what they tell us in space. We simply have to "trust" them and "believe the scientists."
