The Guardian newspaper in the UK used to be so full of misprints that the satirical magazine, Private Eye, used to call it The Grauniad.

My memory is getting worse. I knew I had some useful video links but I was not looking forward to the hassle of converting them into a list for GAW. When I looked into the folder where I keep copies of some videos I found a text file that I had used previously in exactly the right format!

Yes, the interest idea is crafty because that money does not exist. They are asking for money back which the government can never have so to pay it back they need to borrow more.

It is the ultimate "money for nothing" in perpetuity.

There is an interesting set of videos on this subject:

Banking is actually quite a smart system! Imagine if someone opened a long-stay car park and charged money for you to park your car there then imagine what people would think if they discovered that the car park was hiring out their cars for money while they were supposedly parked there.

Basically, a savings bank is a long-stay money park where your savings are hired out to others for money AKA interest. Even better, because it is money and not "real" that money can be lent out many times over at the same time!

Some have said that she was the most beautiful woman in the world!

Some of us are too old. We remember the hope that surrounded JFK. He had a plan to shatter the CIA into a thousand parts and many other interesting policies. He had his brother as Attorney General to make sure law enforcement was on his side then what happened?

I don't think that paper ballots will be the whole cure but there is absolutely no reason to continue using machines. If you wanted to run any open and transparent system why on earth would you pass all the data through a black box that no-one can fully understand?

People say that code can be walked through and checked but just think about, say, Windows. When you look at the processes that are running in the background, what do they all do? Can anyone name every driver in the system? How many processes are running that do not even appear in that list of processes?

Oh dear me. Deadly Monkey Pox outbreak means martial law and a cancelling of the inauguration day. What a shame!

I am a Brit, too, and I think the system was set up like this originally:

There is a House of Representatives and the number of Representatives relates to the number of people in each state.

There is also a Senate and each states get to have two Senators to represent them there. Originally the state governor would appoint the Senators.

OK, things changed since and now Senators are voted for by the people and there are slight variations in rules between the states.

So the system provides a balance between people and states thus minimising the "democracy is when two wolves and a lamb decide what to have for dinner" issue.

I've had similar thoughts. I was very disappointed with all the cheating in 2020 but as time passed I could see that the loss gave Trump time to sort out his team and come back knowing all the dirty tricks this time around.

The only issue was would he win or would the cheats win out this time. Well, now we know. I still think the b4st4rds need watching, though. They are up to something!

I share some of the concerns in the X post. They folded too quickly. It's quiet - too quiet.

I can see it now: Lieutenant Tragg will be pursuing all the wrong suspects. Mr Burger will be missing all the important questions. Perry Mason will have a suspicion and, at the last possible moment, Paul Drake will enter the court room. He will whisper something to Mason who will then ask for the return of a witness whom he will trap with one of his demon gotcha questions.

Then Perry, Drake and Della Street will retire to a restaurant to celebrate their victory and they will all enjoy a good laugh together.

Life was much simpler back then!

I just want to be a fly on the wall when any of these feeble politicians who are supposed to be representing me, but aren't, meet up with President Trump for the first time.

One way or another, Trump will let them know that he knows and I just know that it will be in a way that maximises the resultant squirming.

Plan B: Oh dear, there was a glitch and the missile set off in exactly the opposite direction. One hundred and eighty degrees out. Someone swapped some wires over erroneously.

It will probably land in Palm Beach, Florida. Mar-a-Lago to be specific.

They said the purpose of the test was to show the 'readiness of nuclear US forces'

But military officials noted that the 'test is routine and was scheduled years in advance.'

Just as long as the Chinese let us know a few years in advance which day they are going to strike, we will be ready!
