I appreciate that, I really do. I was sitting here thinking about my life, the ups and downs and all that, and figured what the hell, give it a shot. The title of the book is A Walk to the Buses: Reflections of a Dinosaur Teacher. It is not going to be read other than by a select few individuals, but I don't care. It is like a monkey jumped off my back. Just to sit there and reminisce is worth all the tea in China as far as I'm concerned. Thanks again for the response.

Finally got around to writing the preface of a book I have been meaning to write for years. Turns out the hardest part was just sitting down and typing the first words. Hopefully I will be able to add to it, because I forgot how much I enjoyed writing something, anything just because it is fun.

You are quite welcome, and when you get a chance, pass on my respect to your loved ones. We're all part of a unique brotherhood, and I would do it all again if I could.

I don't know how to make memes, but it would be cool to see one with the mugshot that says "Sup, Homies?" lol.

Interesting how we're at the 5-year anniversary of Songbird's death. Not sure if that figures into things, but what the hey.

Thanks Fren. And by the way, your name doesn't do you justice.

As I stated in a post a long time ago, McCain had the name "Songbird" for a reason. My company commander in boot camp was on the flight deck of the Forrestal when that shit went down. He had the burn scars to prove it. Long story short, he blamed a young lieutenant - you guessed it, John McCain, A4 Skyhawk pilot. You can read all the stories you want about what happened, but our company believed him because essentially he scared the shit out of us when we got back to the barracks after graduation. He told us that hot dog pilots would "wet start" their jets by flooding the intake with fuel, so that when they fired up, a big fireball would come out the back. Sort of a rite of passage, so to speak. When that missile dropped off the F4 and skipped across the flight deck, it hit McCain's plane, causing the massive explosion, and the rest is history. Had the A4's intake not been flooded, things may have been different, who knows, the rest is just speculation. By the way, he also told us that if he ever got word of any of us "little ducks" fucking around when we got to the fleet, he would personally come and tear us to pieces. I aged twenty years that day, and will never forget it.

Look, I'm not here to rewrite history. I never met McCain. I wasn't there, and who knows what really happened...but we heard an account of it first hand from someone who was there, and our CC, probably the toughest motherfucker I have ever met, choked up as he told us that there were many guys who did survive that would mutter McCain's name under their breath because they knew too. Add to that, the Songbird moniker came from when he was shot down. He flipped on his cellmates to save his own ass. That was known by many senior shipmates I ran into when I was in. My older brother, a door gunner on a Huey Hog in Vietnam, told me before he died last year from agent orange that even the guys in the Army knew about McCain, and they couldn't stand him. For some reason, this is personal. Our CC later ate his own service weapon when he lost his wife to cancer.

I would like to point out two things: 1) Remember when President Trump made those comments about McCain and people excoriated him for it? Well, I believe he knew about McCain too; and 2) I was in the US Navy Honor Guard. I have posted about how those ceremonies are conducted, and I've had to present three Flags to family members. That flag on Songbird's casket was wrinkled for a reason. McCain was a traitor. I'll go to my grave believing that, for what it's worth.

Sometimes people just give the type of look that gives others pause. This is one of those looks. I have been told that I have one by my students. Of course, I can't see it myself. President Trump knows exactly what he is doing, and I delight in watching the left shit themselves silly.

Still do to this day, whenever I'm in a classic rock kind of mood.

I've got to give you credit, Fren. Your name reminds me of when my older brothers would play Steppenwolf back in the day. Those were some groovy times :)

That would be the coolest thing to see. What would be even cooler would be to see Ronna McDaniel's face melt underneath all those studio lights, much like when they opened the Ark in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Don't encourage bad habits, lol. We used to play a version of the game when it came to the Bob Newhart show back in the 70's. Every time someone said "Bob," you had to take a swig, and every time someone said "Hi Bob," you had to down the entire glass. By then end of the show we were pretty much on our way to becoming completely plowed 😆

It has seriously reached a point where even thinking of Fox makes me sick to my stomach, and I used to watch them regularly. I tried getting through Gutfeld, but he is getting old and somewhat stale. They're nothing but a bunch of Trump-hating fucking hypocrites.
