Your response is one of the reasons this is my go-to board. Sometimes it is necessary to hear others in our quest to develop level-headedness. Thanks.

That may be so, but the question comes down to if there are enough awake Americans to overcome the others.

I hope so, Marine. It is nice to see / hear a positive spin. Semper Fi o7

Interesting date, the tenth. Reminds me of the 2.3 trillion dollars that went missing from the Pentagon, and then the next day happened...

Forgive me if I say I'm getting really tired of this shit. It's disgusting, frankly.

The bigger issue seems to be whether she is qualified or not based on citizenship status.

That seems to be a trend these days. I know a couple of guys who tried to identify as disabled Veterans because at some point during their supposed tenure, they got a hangnail or toe infection or something and tried to link that to a disability. It got to a point where I didn't want to bring up what happened to me [firefighting accident led to bone & joint issues] so I just let them go about their merry way.

I noticed that too, and as a result, I have stopped listening to about 90% of the podcasts out there. Lot of grifters, IMO.

Well, at least you're honest and straightforward about it. That's an upvote.

Guilty as charged. Been here three years and feel I haven't really contributed to anything, but I do admit I've learned a lot, if it is any consolation. Thanks to long-termers and the moderators, this is the only place I really go to get advice, or to have something clarified.

I remember the garden club scene from the original. Creepy in a way.

Someone needs to explain to me how the hell Harris became so popular all of a sudden. I thought nobody liked her, but to hear it now, she's a darling, closing the gaps in the polls, and shit like that. I know it's a crock, and I am tired of it, and hope something happens soon.

Went back to work after a long, hot summer. Used to be excited to see kids, and now I dread it. The fun just isn't there anymore. Beginning of school used to be magical, seeing the kiddos after summer break, but now it is just a chore. It is no longer fun, and I've been at it 27 years. I attribute that to the fact that over the past few years, I realize that most of history is a lie, and what we thought was true and right simply isn't so. I don't really want to retire and am hoping to catch some magic of teaching again, but I'll tell you, it's harder than you think. I just want to be with the wife and spend time at home on our property. I've always said, the moment it is no longer fun I won't go to work. Well, I am closer than I've ever been.

I heard they were talking about the one dude from Maryland, the young black guy, but I'll be damned if I remember his name.

Rush was way ahead of his time. There's not a day that goes by without me thinking "man, I wonder what Rush would have to say about this."

Lot to digest in this post.

That's the one question that has been bugging the shit out of me ever since Sunday.

Interesting analogy. However, I can't help thinking of one daring chess move occasionally offered by the masters of today and yesterday: the Queen sacrifice. When I used to play competitively, I had a chance to observe others. Although I never was in the same room with Kasparov, I was always amazed by his "side moves." In the heat of battle, he would move some insignificant piece on the other side of the board, such as a pawn, and it would leave his opponent thinking: "Why we he do that?!" And then boom, out of nowhere comes a checkmate. There are many comparisons that could be made with the political climate of today. It's downright fascinating.

Great job as usual, Fester. Those sloped roof ones are a hoot. Reminds me that every year I have to get stupid and hang Christmas lights, and my roof has a 30 degree pitch. Oh well. 😊
