For those of you who haven't seen the latest TS post from Trump, here it is. Cryptic, in a way: https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/109343263845777288

As long as Pelosi goes, I don't care if it's 218-217. Sure, nothing will get done, but nothing's getting done anyway.

Thanks. I prefer the photo, because it's at a point where I really can't have Faux News on for any longer than a few seconds, but I see this video puts it in context.

Always wondered about that comment.

I floated this the other day and didn't really receive a lot of responses. Nice to see the interest ticking up.

It was a dark comedy involving a nuclear war with Russia.

Funny you should ask...Tennessee. Eastern part, about 30 miles from Knoxville. Grainger County. You won't regret it. You had better think about buying larger pant sizes, though, because the down-home cookin' is gonna get ya 😄

Some other fitting examples of this type of heroism are never mentioned at all, but they should be if people are looking for hope and inspiration even in the face of profound defeat:

Chosin Reservoir, Korean War; The Sullivan Boys, Waterloo, Iowa; Ia Drang Valley, Vietnam, 1965.

There are many other examples. That's why those who served can pretty much explain anything you need to know about battles and such, if you can get them to talk about it.

Agreed. Being a Navy Veteran with some PTSD issues [that have been eased due to my marriage to the most wonderful woman in the world] I can tell you that outside this board and in a few remote areas, people only think about giving a shit about Veterans in between texts. Just my opinion. That's why many guys I know [still alive] would rather not talk about what they went through, for good reason. When you enlist in the military, it's like the famous line from Hotel California by the Eagles - "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."

There's one scene in Memphis Belle that shows a Messerschmidt ME109 split a B17 in half. One of the most powerful parts of the movie. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this.

You may be closer to the truth than you think. At the high school where I teach, believe it or not most of the students think that Trump is still President, and they're not stupid. They say the Pledge every morning and pray at football and basketball games as if it is part of their lives, and you don't see gender identity or those types of issues. This is deep red Trump country. Yes, most kids have phones and are on social media. They're not buying what the MSM is selling. The boys for the most part talk about hunting, trucks and things like that, and the girls talk about boys and cosmetology and things like that, and they're about as happy as can be. People here also know that if any of that protest/antifa/globalism/green crap comes to this county, it will be met with racked shotguns and long rifles. I'm not kidding. Sure, outside people think we're backward rednecks, and that's just fine. We don't have soy lattes, skinny jeans or man buns - we have a generation here that still is hanging on to what America used to be, and that in itself is a beautiful thing.

I've known for some time [and even heard it in a song] that pleasure is the child of pain. We were warned about darkness and times of trouble. The only thing we have now is hope that just around the corner we are going to start seeing the light.

I honestly think what you're going to see is a deeper division in society, amongst those who support Trump and America First, and everyone else, including Republicans and Democrats. There will be a frostiness that will overtake this country like we have never seen. The distrust has been sowed, and now we will experience the aftermath of that. People will stop talking to each other, including family members. The mood in restaurants, malls, and outdoor venues will be chillier. The People who support Trump will feel more abandoned than they already are, and that seething anger will not manifest itself necessarily in outward actions, but it will be pushed down farther into the psyche so much so that someone is likely to snap and start something by doing something stupid. The floodgates will open and people will take sides, only this time it is going to be painfully obvious. Trust is gone. Whatever people thought of America as being a great country will fall into two categories - those who are comfortable, won't buy into the lies and the fraud, and won't put down their phones - and the other, the digital soldiers, going underground, trusting few people, feeling bitter and betrayed, and waiting for the spark.

This is a deadly combination. The precipice is the next stop, or we may be at it already. May God have mercy on our souls.

One of the most haunting end credits to a movie ever. Appropriate for our times:

Same day voting, paper ballots, sheriff deputies pick up boxes and deliver them to the designated registrar. Worked for decades. If you were infirmed or otherwise couldn't get out to vote, arrangements were made.

I don't wish Pennsylvania any good luck at all. They had multiple chances to fix this and they punted. Screw them. You get what you voted [sarc] for, so time to pay up, Quaker State.

Funny you brought that up. I tried to convert people, did digging, show proof, have conversations, etc. but then it got to a point where you could tell it was an exercise in futility. Now, although I do not advocate violence against people, I say fuck them. If they're not awake by now they're never going to be. My wife and I woke the hell up 20 years ago and we're better for it.
