That's what confuses me, and makes me think the fix is in. Cruz was listed as voting for Thune. As in not Cornyn, the other senator in Texas. Cornyn gave Cruz $500k for his campaign this election. Texans are booing Cornyn whenever they see him, publicly. Is Cruz actually voting for Cornyn but hiding it by acting like he is voting for Thune? I think he is trying to hide the fact that he may be closer with Cornyn than we Texans thought.
McTurtle and the rest of them run PACs that sent money to the Senators they wanted (RINOs or sympathizers). They not only didn't fund Lake, but Thune/Mitch didn't fund Cruz either.
I'm all but certain the rest of the senators are doing the same thing - voting for their pockets.
They are voting for the deep pockets that will fund their campaign to keep them in power. You are correct.
I had to edit my above comment. I was wrong about him being enlisted. I saw that somewhere and thought it was correct. However- he retired as a major. He was definitely an officer.
That said - I still think he should be in charge of the VA (since he advocates for veterans already) or Deputy SECDEF until a "fixer" comes in and cleans house.
Also he would still be a better SECDEF than Austin - even though Austin was actually a (very woke) general.
I agree this Senate vote should be open and transparent. They work for us.
As for nothing being secret - how about elections, or even the votes to unionize at a company? If those were open (like the union leaders want) then every company would end up unionized through fear and intimidation tactics.
My view won't be popular, but I'm not at all sure about this pick. Pete is a good guy and a great patriot. He saw combat and received awards. But - he was a mid-rank officer.
Don't get me wrong - I was enlisted and not some general. I know I wouldn't be able to waltz in and know my way around (politically) the puzzle palace even though I was stationed there for 5 years. For the other veterans on this board: when was the last time you saw a full bird colonel or a brigadier general picking up messages from the comm center or pushing a coffee cart down the hall to a meeting of 4-stars and service secretaries? Happens a lot at the Pentagon.
How many soldiers do you think Pete has ever been responsible for, or commanded? There are close to 3 million people in the DOD. Has he ever had to do anything with budgets, troop movements, meetings with heads of state or foreign ministers? Does he have any connections at all with anyone currently in high positions at the Pentagon? I know he isn't stupid, but he is inexperienced and is getting ready to be the "CEO" of the USA's largest and most consequential employer.
Consider this. Trump gave those idiots at the Pentagon an order to withdraw our troops from Syria, and they told him they did. They are still there - they just ignored the CIC. What do you think they will do to a SECDEF that was a major and is now on FNC?
Honestly I think he would be a great SECDEF in year 3 or 4, once someone like Admiral Rogers or even LtG Flynn went in and cleaned house. Pete doesn't know where the bodies are buried like those guys do. I believe very few of the leadership will accept him and most will work every day to undermine him. The deep state does that everywhere already.
BTW - I still like this pick better than Rubio for SoS. Rubio is a hawk and will (if the pick is real) be over the State Department - which includes the CIA. How many wars has the CIA gotten us in?
Think a little more about this pick before deciding it is a great pick. Pete would have been a great pick for the VA, or even the Deputy SECDEF if Trump really wanted to shoot for the stars. We are about to have a lot of turmoil in the DOD and I'm not sure Pete is ready to handle that level of a charlie foxtrot.
My bad - and I actually knew that. I must've watched the OAN special on Tina a dozen or more times last year. Thanks. I don't know anything about the republican party of CO so no idea if anyone that would help actually has standing.
The only way I could see a pardon is if someone petitioned SCOTUS to review the case to see if it rises to the federal level due to the election fraud question. If it could get sent to the Federal courts then Trump could just pardon her and it is over.
AZ will not pardon her because she is the enemy of the cartels. Pardoning her would put them in the crosshairs.
I am sorry for your loss - I know what you went through. My wife was pregnant with twins. We even got to hear both heartbeats early on. The multiple ultrasounds showed 2 fetuses just starting to grow.
We knew very early because we went through infertility treatments at Bethesda Naval Hospital (now I think it is all Walter Reed?). I was active duty Air Force at the time. They drilled about 60 holes in her ovaries to interrupt whatever was going on, and once they healed we had a 6-week window to try to get her pregnant. We ended up having to use IUI (not IVF) and it worked. When we saw twins we were ecstatic - they run in my family.
Unfortunately she started getting really sick and the ultrasounds showed one of the very tiny fetuses getting smaller and smaller. The heartbeat went away and the doctors insisted she have a D&C. She refused because it would kill the other one.
Fortunately the one that died was somehow absorbed or dissolved - or whatever the term is. She stayed sick the remainder of her pregnancy, with a lot of time alternating between being in the hospital or me driving her to every military clinic in DC to get her tanked up on fluids every other day. That worked too.
She had a healthy baby girl who is now getting ready to get married.
By the way, my wife never told me they tried to get her to do the D&C until just a few weeks ago. The doctors told her she could die if she didn't abort. She didn't want me to have to make that decision so she made it alone.
I still think about the twin. When the doctor told us she was pregnant I told him it would be a red-haired boy and a blonde-haired girl. He said at the time it was too early to even see if it was twins. When the ultrasound showed it was he was flabbergasted and asked how I new. I told him I dreamed about it the night before he told us she was pregnant. I've had visions all my life whenever someone really close to me was sick or dying, so this one freaked me out.
My daughter is 28 now. She was born with blonde hair.
I wasn't on at that time, but next time you notice try these 2 other sites:
After a treason execution they could just put the body in an inner-tube and float it towards Florida. The govt can pay for those burials if the body makes it to Florida. The rest of them were buried at sea. Save more money...
Isn't "US Civil Defense" one of those accounts that GAW quasi-banned because it is just some guy spreading rumors? Never any sources?
This was also "CaptCoronado"'s work:

Dude could be right every once in a while, but so could the loons that wear the sandwich boards and yell "The End is Near".
While I agree that the senators don't want people in their business, they still work for us (at least theoretically). Maybe if people (including Trump) had stayed in their business the R senators may have actually taken some of the house bills to the floor or at least fought for Schumer to allow that. Instead (much like during Trump's first term) the Rs just stonewalled or ignored the house and Trump's requests. How could we have not gotten wall funding in 2017? Leadership including Mitch refused. Trump should've let Mitch lose his last election. We didn't have a majority anyway.
Thune is a real enemy. Leadership has been grooming him for a couple of years. He wants the power and will very likely get it. He is a complete NO in my book.
Cornyn is awful - only in it for himself (both as a senator and leader). I am a Texan and would vote against him in a general election just to get rid of him. Rumor has it that Ken Paxton will primary Cornyn in the '25 Primaries. Cornyn is a complete RINO and a total POS.
Rick Scott was an average 2-term FL Gov and has no senate leadership experience. He did however do a good job after Hurricane Irma. Scott pretty much bought the governorship with his own money (which I actually respect). Unfortunately he is the junior senator from FL (under Rubio) so he doesn't even have that going for him.
The only real choice I see is Rick Scott. The other 2 will be status-quo. If we waste a senate majority again, all the goodwill Trump built up to get elected a 3rd time will be gone.
I'm not sure the dems can even vote on that. Since it isn't a constitutional position like the SotH (which both sides vote on) I think they vote in their own caucus. Just like the dims will vote for their minority leader. If the republicans (with a majority) could vote for the minority leader we would be making the choice for their leader (and vice versa). If they allow that to happen they are all dumber than I thought.
Consider this - if we were the minority the dems could stick us with Gramnesty.
