People have to feed their families? From the money they make by working? Even if they hate their jobs … and have better things to do than show up there. Been there, done that. Totally heartwrenching.

She may be the only person left of the cognoscenti in Europe who actually knows how to function as a parent.

“You screwed up big time, Andrew! You’re grounded! And your allowance is completely cut off!”

The rest of them, whether royalty, elected, or appointed? Business as usual…

Actually, in a bizarre way I think the reptilian behavior of her last-born son compelled her metamorphosis into a PEDE!

As I understand it, the British pede (pedus britainnicus), like the American pede (pedus americanus) is a moral amphibian—but with no sense of humor!

Sic transit gloria mundi … 🐸

Weird. Page said it couldn’t open to the country I’m requesting from. But you gave me enough info to look it up another way: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/queen-has-entered-a-new-phase

I think it was just poorly phrased and would give it about as much significance as covfefe.

I agree; she’s no saint. But the central driver in her personality is an adherence to duty. Her actions tell me that she knows that Andrew has abandoned his and must face the consequences. Continuing to support him would invalidate everything she stands for.

“Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this sun of York; And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.

Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths; Our bruised arms hung up for monuments; Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings, Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.

Grim-visaged war hath smooth'd his wrinkled front; And now, instead of mounting barbed steeds To fright the souls of fearful adversaries, He capers nimbly in a lady's chamber To the lascivious pleasing of a lute.”

(Richard III, Act 1, Scene 1)

The queen has chosen not to save him. There are consequences (at last!) and she’s invoking them. Few, if any, of the other perpetrators will be called to similar account.

The mother’s on her deathbed. The wayward son is over sixty. He can’t give any more excuses. Not just criminal, also tragic.
