I'm in 9A, if it's hot where you are, you can grow it. If it gets really cold you can plant them in pots and bring them in or maybe use a heat lamp in a garage or greenhouse maybe. I know during the winter I have a hard time keeping them alive (live in lower Alabama) but somehow manage to at least keep one alive to make more plants in summer. It really thrives in the heat.
