In elections past this was either accepted as the norm or overlooked entirely. Now Thune will be relentlessly hounded any time he does anything contrary to POTUS' wishes, not just by anons, but by normie conservatives. We are the news now. 😁
The school has "temporarily removed" the teacher. The letter they put out is the very definition of minimizing criminal behavior. It was "a private video only intended for her Snapchat group." Luckily for the children and families, libs are stupid.

The new senator-elect from PA was on Maria Bartiromo's show this morning, and it sounds like the incoming senators do get to vote. Not sure if that's correct, but huge if true. Here's the full episode, but he's interviewed in the first segment.
I am not a frequent contribtor here, and I only learned yesterday of your mom's passing. I had the pleasure of speaking with her through here, and I know how much she loved you. My deepest condolences to you and your family. The world is a better place because of Alina, and I'm privileged to have known her, even if it wasn't in person.
When I first started lurking here, I was so struck by both the civility and most everyone's calm demeanor. I always chuckle when I see rules on other message boards that say "keep it civil!" because it's seldom adhered to. It was so different from The Donald/Patrots.win. Good news - there's still a chance to flip MD-6 back to red (western MD turned blue when they were gerrymandered in with part of Montgomery County).
Even better news - that corpulent RINO Hogan lost. If the margin of victory for Alsobrooks holds at 11-12%, I'll sleep well knowing the few, proud, MAGA Marylanders who did not vote for him were the difference.
I voted early in MD. I drive past my local polling place each morning when polls open at 7. The line this morning was relatively small given it's Election Day, but the same location was hopping all during Early Voting. My area is a mostly red enclave in a purple county.
Someone on GAW asked earlier what your dream scenario would be for this Election. Besides what all of us want (Trump landslide, arrests, tribunals, etc.), I would love to see Trump not only flip Maryland, but I want to see the Senate race be too close to call, only to have Lockdown Larry lose after the mail in ballots are counted. Had he been a real Republican governor we wouldn't have mail in voting, so seeing him hoisted on his own petard would absolutely delight me.

Of course no party affiliation is mentioned, but of course based on the target demographics mentioned, it's obviously aimed at Dem voters, likely the ones waking up to what a hellhole MD has become.

Those who received the letter said they felt intimidated and ill-at-ease. On its face, a group called Voter Participation Center trying to encourage voters to vote should be a positive thing. I'm guessing however that the article's omission of the text of the actual letter tells me the language used in the letter must have been pretty threatening, especially if the Dem Attorney General is getting involved.
According to the voter participation website another anon posted yesterday, Maryland's early voting turnout was about 1/3 of all registered voters. I haven't found a breakdown by party affiliation, but if GOP and independent turnout were higher than normal, Maryland Dems may be more worried about their voters staying at home than I realized.

I don't know if this will help, but Brandon Straka did a Walk Away round table with a group of minority influencers who also walked away from the Democrat party. The group includes gay and lesbian influencers. It's almost an hour long, but Straka is good at grabbing your attention and I watched the whole thing in two sittings. This might make your friend feel a bit less alone (and get her digging 😉).
Heard it in real time with my husband. He has been torn on the Gaetz nom because he's worried the ethics charges might be true. I showed him the Hemingway article someone reposted from 2022 about Gaetz, and between that and this exchange between her and Gowdy I think he now sees that the Gaetz pick was the way to go.
BTW, nice dig by Mollie at Trey about getting someone to "do something" about corruption after all the years he made noise in Congress with nothing to show for it.
