Well... If you go by just the facts of the case, an acquittal is imminent. But never put it past a jury to do the most unexpected thing possible.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think the jury is going to railroad Rittenhouse because they don't want their city to burn and they don't want to be targeted by the mob.
Because the velocity was not constant. The spacecraft was accelerating during its cruise phase to Mars. The velocity relative to Earth at launch was 24,600mph. When it approached Mars, its velocity relative to Earth was 64,123mph.
That's a roughly 8.193mph^2 rate of acceleration over that duration on a curved trajectory. You also have to consider the relative speed of Mars' orbit...
So the distance over time does add up, but you need to consider the movements of other celestial bodies and use some more advanced math to get there,
What an absurd ruling. Basically, by prohibiting schools from making healthy people wear masks, people with disabilities are placed in imminent danger. Therefore, the policy is discriminatory. Which is insane.
The policy merely prohibits a mandate. It's a prohibition not a dictate. So this judge is saying that not forcing people to do something is discriminatory to a specific group of people.
Fucking clown world.
They left the door open for the jury to consider that Rittenhouse provoked the encounter and forfeited his right to self defense... On a video and still image that the prosecutor says show Rittenhouse pointing his rifle at someone; but no one but the prosecutors are able to discern that from the tiny blob on the screen despite watching it over and over again. It's a pure fabrication.
This is where they are going to railroad him to placate the mob. The judge should never have allowed this argument to be presented to the jury. It is absurd on it's face to admit evidence that the jury needs to be told what to look for and how it should be interpreted. The video should stand on it's own and should be unequivocal in what it depicts.
They will convict him by saying that he provoked the attacks because they don't want their city to burn.
So his testimony isn't needed. Testimony is fallible.
Just look at what the prosecution is doing now. He asked Rittenhouse if he "told him the truth about everything he did." His answer was "Yes." So now they're using video evidence to show that he did, in fact, do something he didn't describe in his earlier testimony.
This is exactly why a defendant should never testify in his own criminal trial.
Well.. Let's do some criminal law 101:
The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. So from that position, you testifying in your own criminal trial leaves you only one direction to move the needle: towards guilt.
Not “oh he shouldn’t have done that” but rather “why is his truthful testimony going to prove any guilt?”
A skilled prosecutor can take your truthful testimony and turn it into an admission of guilt. For example, a person accused of battery when someone trips into him and he instinctively put his hands up to protect himself from being injured. The defendant takes the stand. The prosecutor asks him if he struck the victim. He truthfully answers "no." The prosecutor asks if he "made physical contact" with the victim. Truthfully, "Yes." Prosecutor asks if the victim knew he was going to touch him and gave him permission. Truthful answer, "No." Prosecutor asks if he raised his hands in front of him as he and the victim were in close proximity. Truthfully, "yes."
The defense asks all the right questions: Did you intentionally raise your hands? "No, it was a reaction." Did you move toward the victim? "No, he tripped." Did you intend to make contact with the victim? "No, contact was incidental."
In closing arguments, the prosecution gets to go last. So the last thing the jury hears is this: "The defendant in his own testimony admitted that he came upon the victim, and without consent or warning, raised his hands toward the victim and used them to make physical contact. That is the legal definition of battery and you must convict."
I do not agree that our country should only let the lawyers speak. Lets hear the truth from the mouth of the witness.
Let's hope that you're never charged with a crime and go to trial. If so, I hope you listen to your lawyers.
This isn't about ego. This is about exposing Rittenhouse to cross. The prosecution will get to impugn his character. They are also not limited to the scope of questioning by the defense; they can go into issues completely unrelated to this case in order to paint him in a negative light.
There really is no reason for Rittenhouse to take the stand here. It's unnecessary exposure when the defense already has an extremely strong case.
How convenient. So they shredded all of the paper ballots. Now all of the ballot images are "missing."
Even if the 2020 election were squeaky clean, this level of incompetence and defiance is completely unacceptable. These idiots are so hung up on "no proof of fraud" that they can't see that having unverifiable elections is a huge problem.
If this is how it goes, that elections can be stolen with impunity, then maybe it's time Republicans start playing by the same rules.
No surprises here. Obama appointed judge.
She sentenced a man to 45 days in jail from the Jan. 6 protests even though the DOJ asked for 60 days home confinement. This woman has a such serious bug up her ass about Jan. 6 that she's abusing her authority to exact some sort of revenge.
The DC Appeals court isn't much better in composition. So we'll see if they will issue a stay on appeal (I doubt) and if SCOTUS will have anything to say about it...
It really is a shame how Trump is treated compared to every other former President.
Scott was a good Governor here in FL. I voted for him for Senate as well. This is more complicated than idealogical purity. Alaska votes fairly moderately for Senators. Good chance a Trump endorsed nominee loses there. I think Scott is just trying to protect that seat from flipping.
As much as I dislike Murkowski's squishiness, she succeeds her father in that US Senate seat and that has pretty much kept that seat red since 2002. The other Senate seat in Alaska was barely a flip to red in 2008 but a strong hold in 2020. Aside from betting heavily on an outsized red wave in 2022, this really is the safest place to put campaign resources.
This will not be a popular opinion here, but it is the reality of the situation.
There's video of this guy's bicep exploding into a mist of blood. One second he's holding his hands out to feign submission and you can clearly see his arm is intact. Next second Kyle shoots, there's a cloud of blood, and dude's arm is rekt.
Seriously hate these "it's fake" posts because they all make assumptions that are clearly wrong as justification and people perpetuate it mindlessly. In this very photo: 1) There's blood running down the guys arm, hands, pants. The wound is bleeding profusely. It isn't dry. 2) What padding? It's his fucking arm. 3) Too much pain? Says who? Massive trauma like this sends you into shock and you don't really "feel" anything; you just act. Your brain just shuts down a lot of the pain sensory. Seriously, people cut their own limbs off to untrap themselves. The human body is capable of functioning through severe pain when survival is a priority.
My guess is that this guy doesn't like the science that says a man that thinks he's a woman has a mental disorder...
These fucks literally change or censor any scientific research that doesn't confirm their sick world view.
No. It just kind of appears like they're acting. The event doesn't have that 'dynamic' cadence that you see occur organically. And the audio is exceptional for a phone recording.
Idk. It could be real. But the internet has made me very cynical.
It’s been a month and I haven’t heard a thing even though I haven’t done shit.
So this is interesting. I would speculate that the reason you haven't heard anything is because so many people didn't comply that the company now realizes that they can't follow through on the enforcement. Hopefully, that will knock some sense into them and they drop the bullshit.
Then again, we do live in clown world; so you never know what they're willing to do.
GitHub is a place for hosting source code, not necessarily for help with coding. Though the issues feature is kind of used that way sometimes. StackOverflow is really the place I always end up when looking for a solution to whatever I'm working on. There's also no shortage of sites to learn how to code. Many of them free, as well.
