social, political, and economic echo chambers

The economy is part of a set of potential cascading effects in domestic risk. If we have an economic event (return of inflation, rise in unemployment, another banking crisis, etc) it will trigger social unrest leading into the election. If there is social unrest and further fragmentation and violence, it will have economic ramifications. If taken to an extreme (unlikely IMO) the resulting collapse of infrastructure (providing goods and services especially to urban tinder boxes) will rip us apart.

I'll take a different perspective on that....not fully the opposite side, just a different thought. IF, IF, IF China is going to invade it will be this fall. Reasoning:

Taiwan votes for a separatist govt in Jan elections. Even without this, the others hold

Weather and sea states are most favorable in the fall

China's failing economy and growing unemployment rate, especially in urban areas, will create a "wag the dog" imperative for Xi to distract the populace with "rally 'round the flag" event, the first imperative for the Chinese regime (and every government) is to retain its own viability and hold on power. As the risk for domestic unrest rises, Xi and the Party will become more prone to action, both domestic and international.

Xi will likely not be willing to wait for the outcome of US elections - he would prefer to see Biden or his appointed replacement in power to minimize resistance and risk of escalation, but he has the political opportunity now. If he waits, the regional coalition will have more time to strengthen both arms and standardized operations and integrated command and control, mitigating (not removing) the reliance on US forces.

Realize you are not joining with a woman, you are joining with a family. If you put her in the middle of a tug of war, the result will not be good no matter which direction it goes. I suggest that you first pray for discernment and discuss with your clergy if you are part of a faith community. Settle your soul. Then talk to her. Make decisions together about the potential path forward.

Well Comrade Sanders, the bourgeois collapse and peasant uprisings are at hand. :You and your fellow travelers have been working long and hard to achieve this. Congratulations....now remember that the revolutionaries turned on Robespierre

Same

Lotss of contractor or govt leased buildings in the concentrations in Chantilly, Reston, Herndon, Oakton et al. Not all are high security, just secured. Some spooky stuff, but mostly very mundane

I grew up in south Florida. Two recurring bumper sticker themes...

"Save the South - teach a Yankee to drive!" (actually not pointed at Canadians, focused on New Yawkers, Joisey, and their ilk)

"Will the last American out of Miami please bring the flag"

That was several decades ago - far, far worse now

We ceded the battleground of language a LOoooong time ago...all the words that are tagged on with "justice"; equality slides into "equity"; "rights" are endlessly expanded (but never responsibility). We live in Alice in Wonderland - "A word means what I want it to mean nothing more and nothing less"

Libs used statistics to "demonstrate" discrimination (not enough of group X is prima facia evidence of discrimination). We will need to understand that there is a difference between policy and practice....groups may claim to change policy but continue the divisive practice. Our side will need to use statistical measures to see if policy change leads to actual practice change.

Being woke will not serve the best interest of the shareholders. Hence, malpractice and malfeasance in office and failure to meet fiduciary responsibilities

Smith is a sicario for the Dems. He has attacked everyone they wanted to take down - and has lost far more than he has won. He is not part of constitutional justice, he is part of lawfare.

We do not celebrate a day...the day could be anytime (many scholars believe the birth was more likely around April of about 3 BC). But we celebrate the fact and act of the gift of Immanuel - God with us - born as foretold and beginning the long journey to the cross and our redemption and reconciliation.
