THIS. DJT must lay off the personal attacks - it causes listeners to get defensive, and when they get defensive they don't hear anything about her terrible policies and non-accomplishments.
DJT - focus on her stance on the issues vs. your stand on the issues and quit with the insults. Let the listener judge her for themselves. You hurt yourself when you attack her character or intelligence.
How about they each take an hour and talk about their policies and beliefs, and answer (the same) set of questions submitted by hosts or a bipartisan committee. The other person doesn't even have to be there. Then each candidate can respond to their talk, just like the opposing party does after the State of the Union speech.
This approach should encourage each candidate to focus on issues rather than insults. I hope.
