It's not up to President Trump - SOTH is elected by the House members. So President Trump can influence, but not directly appoint.

Good idea. They just need a regular dose of real life - like buying their own groceries and gas - to keep them in touch with the real world.

It's my position that governmental terms should be structured so that no one ever runs for office while in office: so, longer terms (say, 6 years?) and no second terms. It is supposed to be "government SERVICE", not career. As to the rest of the reasons not to have term limits? We'll work those out. What we WON'T have is career politicians lining their pockets at the expense of the American people.

As an Alaskan, I am totally AGAINST this change! Denali was the original Native Alaskan name for the mountain. McKinley never set foot in our state, and Alaskans have always called the mountain Denali, which means "The Great One". The change to Mt. McKinley was the wrong move - leave it as Denali! Obama made many bad decisions, but this wasn't one of them.

Have unvaxxed family members check and see if they are a compatible donor. If they are, they can donate whole blood for him. You may be able to advertise on local Facebook pages for compatible donors, as well.

That isn't how it worked. Many teachers worked jobs that paid into SS during their college years and summers, but until now have been prevented from claiming SS when they retire - even if they'd earned enough credits. I believe that will change with this bill, as it should.

My spouse and I both worked in SS jobs after leaving the public sector specifically in order to allow us to collect what little SS we had earned. I think we collectively get about enough to pay for our Medicare with perhaps enough left over to go out for pizza once a month. It's not a lot, but we earned it - at least we get it. If we hadn't worked in SS jobs AFTER leaving the public sector, we wouldn't have. It was a dumb, unfair law.

And yet I've read that it spends the exact same amount of $$. SMH.

A shut down government will prevent the Congress from passing any more stupid laws or sending any more $$ overseas. I'm all for it.

Single-issue bills should be the rule. Yes, it would slow things down - but is that a bad thing?? No. Only the most important bills would get voted on, and the rest of the fluff would just die. Which is exactly what should happen.

Just cut the funding. Wasted spending.

Traditionally, states go through the process of becoming a US Territory before earning the right to become US states. Alaska is a good example - my ex- husband was born in the Territory of Alaska before it became a state.

I believe this process would work for Canada. I would suggest, however, that Canada be brought in as a number of territories,, combining some provinces and splitting others as it makes sense. As an Alaskan, I would love being able to travel to "The Lower 48" states without leaving the US. And I believe Canadians make very fine neighbors! I would welcome this process, personally.

The U-Haul trucks used to have "Adventures in Moving" on the side. Boy, was that ever true!

Correct. The electoral college was set up specifically to keep the more populated areas (read "liberal") to force their rule on the rural folks in the US It's an important safeguard that we don't want to get rid of under any circumstances.

No, I don't want her there either. And I think she can be blocked because she's not constitutionally legal to be President (or VP either, for that matter).

Yes, our nutritionally-based doctor told us to stick to Stevia if we use artificial sweeteners. You can literally grow it - it's a plant. This same doctor warned us NOT to take the Covid shots half a year before they really started pushing them. He said they contain the same ingredients that created Mad Cow Disease, and that we were going to see people starting to drop dead in 18 months or so. Just as it turned out...
