What's crazy was how slow it was moving, I was suddenly reminded of the scene from "My Science Project" where they're outrunning the current in the supercharged GTO to blow up an electrical tower and stop the alien current from escaping the area.
Ice causing the lines to go phase to phase, causing cool Jacob's ladder type arcs. Happens pretty often, I've seen quite a few vids like this over the years. It happens.
Others seem to have the answer covered, but I’m just here to say damn that must’ve been VERY bright to fool the exposure settings on the camera into making it look like nighttime.
Sometimes you just can't appreciate the magnitude of things when you see them on the ol' TV. A screen can only get as bright as a screen can get, but when you see it essentially turn daylight into dusk by comparison... you know it's bright.
Kinda of like the first time I was next to a .44 Magnum at the firing range. On screen, all guns go bang. It's very hard to discern a bang from a boom when you're just watching it. That .44 was a BOOM. ?
I still haven't fired any high-power cartridge handguns like .44 magnum and beyond. Maybe if I was concerned about grizzlies in the backcountry, I'd get something like that. But I just haven't heard many first-hand report that these calibers are particularly fun to shoot.
Aww man now that song is stuck in my head...rather appropriate actually ?Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? Oh, no, not I, I will survive!?
Hillary crashed into powerlines with broom?

Dude I need to watch that!
Hit the blower.....Now we are talkin" hyperspace...

I've had something like this happen right over my car while driving through an intersection during a heavy storm.
electrical gremlins?
I thought they were restricted to Cap au Diable.
Doc Brown and Marty coming back from the future...see's how it's going and heads back. We'll call you when we have Trump back!
1.21 JIGGA-WHATS!!!
Trump = Marty confirmed
Hello McFly.
That is insane!!!
Solar flare or powerline overload
No, we are approaching a solar minimum. This is due to the cold snap, either snow or ice causing the lines to touch each other...
I get that and I also understand we have a weakening magnetic field around the planet. I’m no expert indeed!
It's rare but this sometimes happens when u overpay ur power bill.
That's just the power lines FLEXING to prove they are ready to extinguish the evil in this world one chair at a time!!!
Winner of best answer Big Mike Robinson
That’s bad ass, I’ve seen that before when one of our substations was hit by lightning and exploded a transformer.
Sounds like a Terminator coming in from the future.
Zuul approaches during the dark winter.
I am the gatekeeper!
Electro is probably near by. I'd go back inside because he's known to be an asshoe.
Simple: china got acces to the electrical grid.

That's why "arc blindness" is a thing.
Yeah, no joke there.

Lol... Why in the world is this getting downvoted?
Oh, a couple of "muh free speeches" people got pissed at me on another thread, and evidently went through and downtooted my various comments. ??
I will survive.

Phase arching?
Electricity running down that power line or ball lightning!
