They don’t want to lose your money for formula. Breast feeding is the cheapest and best possible thing you can do for your child if you are able. They bond that it creates probably petrifies them.
My Mother in Law is obsessed with how breast feeding has been "debunked" and tries to get every woman she knows (including me) not to do it. I'm sure she'll be overjoyed to hear it's now racist to breast feed. I think just like you theorize she's terrified of the bond that breast feeding creates.
Wow I'm sorry she's like that. I've always felt blessed that I hit the jackpot with my MIL. For 30+ years she's been one of my best friends, now 97 years young and I hope I'm half the MIL she's been one day for my boys. She would have supported me if I breastfed, bottle-fed, or just hooked the hose out back to their mouths, lol. I wasn't able to breastfeed but I wish I had, would have saved a fortune on formula. That's what these "academics" want, to put God knows what in the formula and feed that to everyone.
My mom was the same way with my sister. When I had my son I showed my mom real science and told her I did not hold the choices she made against her so she should accept that I was making my own choices. The best decision I made besides giving natural birth with no drugs was breastfeeding.
The cdc encourages breastfeeding on their website as the best possible food for baby. Not sure where she's getting her debunk from. I thought cdc was their bible.
I don't think anyone has actually fallen for her blatantly bad advice. My husband's cousin just had a baby and has basically stopped talking to my MIL because of the constant judgmental liberal parenting advice.
Someone who has kept a whole food diet, perfect gut flora, rarely drinks, strong immune system, and their idea of a meal out is from scratch places? great!
Average normie who lines up in fast food drive thrus, thinks Olive Garden is a real restaurant, drinks regularly, and has no idea what a probiotic is? Formula is probably better
Makes it harder to get children to believe all the lies. A tight bond between mother and child who is the child likely to trust more? They don't want free thinkers they want sheep
My relationship with my son is much closer than I had with my mother. Not sure if all comes from the fact that I breastfed him or because I put being a wife and mother before any other role in my life. My mother is an ex hippy feminist who goes to church but believes in abortion and is a proud card carrying democrat who will excuse anything someone with a D after their names says or does. I love her but I don't always like her.

Your MIL is a moron. You should keep your kids away from her as much as humanly possible.
She's a really undermining, manipulative, and controlling person. I'm going to try to keep her away as much as possible.
Tell satan shes not allowed in your home anymore

So crazy how something NATURAL is now "debunked."
She didn't do it and is terrified of anyone who does breast feed because she can't stand even the implication that she might have made a mistake.
Narcissism red flag. Can't be wrong. Ever.

Is she an atheist?
Hahahah, how did you know!? Yes, she is a liberal atheist and HATES religious people.
Is this your MIL? https://youtu.be/q0qAdeCOQzI?t=72
You mean people are actually falling for this?

It's been done for millennia, all mammals do it, yet it's debunked?
lol, ok boomer.
I honestly think it's a case by case

MIL is out of touch with reality.

Wierd, I just watched this last night. And now here we are.

Its probably more likely they want to poison your child by adding cancer causing chemicals to the baby formula.
Not to mention it's far, far healthier and more nutritious for the growing child
