I can relate. I consider myself "fluffy" (warm and cuddly), but if need by, I can turn to fat (mean and nasty) in a nanosecond without skipping a beat. I have been blessed with the abilities of quick wit, humor and being able to project my voice across a crowded room without raising the volume of my voice! I grew up in SO CAL where everyone seemed to be tall blonde with blue eyes. I, on the other hand was short, brunette and dark brown eyes. I say, rock on, sister! Live your best life. I have found, the more you enjoy your life while speaking the truth, the more the crackpots hate it and go crazy. LOL
John Adams' perception of himself was that people thought he was obnoxious and disliked, a sentiment expressed in a letter, and then immortalized in the musical 1776 as a recurring joke.
To do evil in this world often is the easiest, most tempting thing. Conversely, doing the right thing is often a long uphill battle that gets you ridiculed at every turn.
Will we reap worldly rewards like money, fame, possessions, pleasure only for the self by giving into temptation, or do what is right and good while walking with the Lord in our faith, knowing there is no price that can be paid for what we possess.
The best part is that the latter is truly free, and accessible to all who have the inclination to seek it.
So true. I have absolutely no social life (other than my children, their spouses, and our grandchildren), and I like it. My husband and I are just not into hanging out with most people. Many find him annoying (I think he's hilarious), he has no filter. I'm a bit better because females are coerced into being "nice". When most people bitch about being isolated due to the fake pandemic, we just look at each other and comment on how our lives are essentially the same as ever.
Sounds like I have a lot in common with your hubby. Most people like me until my wit is turned towards them. Then I hear the what an asshole whispers. I just shrug and say the truth hurts doesnt it? That usually shuts them up. I also have no filter that I care to use on most occasions. A spade is a spade and damn your sensibilities.
My wife and I also seem to have a lot in common with you as couples. We have our kids and grandkids. My brothers and sister and thier kids and grandkids. My sisters ex and his family are still quite close and we spend holidays together. and beach days at my sisters house. A couple of lifelong buddies and a couple favorite cousins and their families and thats our social circle.
Great perception, great intelligence, are, by definition, rare. Almost everyone lacks these qualities or they wouldn't be great.
When people of lesser, more common, intelligence and perception look upon the greater they may feel inferior and some may become envious. That causes resentment and the desire to bring the greater down to their level - so assuaging their envy.
Envy and jealousy are painful.
Imagine the feeling of the huge population of the average and the below average and the reservoir of annimosity that exists in this enormous population.
Think about the apparent irrationality of TDS. Where does it come from? Why does it appear so completely irrational? Why is it so virulent and incurable?
To be a high level populist is in some ways a difficult position. This position realizes that the world is our greater body, that all mankind is one.
Maintaining this view in spite of the calumny takes some real belief.
I don't just j'feel' like I don't belong...I really don't...all my life, my dad said to me when I was little...Jani, this is the world, II, with his hands straight up parallel...then he said, and this is you...// even he knew I didn't fit. God Bless my Marine dad with a very early blessing bestowed upon me.
Good post. At this point I do not feel I fit in with the rest of society or even my own family. I always think of the bible verses that talk about how people like us are not "of the world".
My condolences, fren. My friends and I get along pretty well with our customers and community (we run successful local businesses). Winners are well-liked around where we live.
Are you... me? LOL!
Wait until they all see the queen you are and the truth you were able to speak. God Bless You!!!!!!

That is our big test as humans, IMO.

But look what happened to the misfit toys in "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer." LOL
It's taken awhile, but we've all found a group that we fit into...and it's here.
WWG1WGA!

Thanks fren. I’ve been struggling with this a lot lately.
I fit into a lot of groups ... except the one called Democrats.
I'm open, tolerant and genuinely interested in new things and will try anything. Democrats are the opposite.

Truth
Look up the word sanctified, a beautiful sentiment, the Lord has kept us separate.

Every single human is a child of God, made to perfection in God’s image. NOBODY IS EVER ALONE!! ?? Have faith!!!!
Thanks dude, appreciate it.
I hate groups

Me and a bunch of my frens are all from the land of misfit toys.
What ever happened to the NOTW stickers you use to see? We should bring that back and add it to our wwg1wga and ncswic slogans
I was going to say lose some weight if you don't fit but ya....
Did you identify as one of the "mean girls" in school?
lmao there's a reason some people choose to be "digital" soldiers instead of actually enlisting
