I know for a fact they aren't. The folks I know and am reaching out to often reply. I also know how to disguise things, and use the IM groupings. If you just try to put things directly on the site with some links they will block them, but there are ways around those blocks.
I get it however in my defense and likely many others, I had left but had to go back to help fight the local school board and county commissioners. Being new just before covid hit I didn’t know many people in the state and I got sick of the censorship on FB and stopped using it but didn’t delete my account. When it came down to finding parents and people fighting all the bs the only place I could go was FB. The one group wound up being a bust but it connected me with dozens of new people and now I am helping multiple people with campaigns for school board. I also now get to post funny memes making fun of people who called me a conspiracy theorists and try to red pill, especially when I get fact checked I go back and post my fact checked post just for fun. Another group I joined is fighting the county and we organize through that because as of now we have no where else to go.
Do you have another suggestion for someone who moved out of state right before covid shut everything down?. We left all of our friends and family and literally moved to a state where we didn’t know a single person. My neighbor told me about a group of parents on FB that I could join. How else was I to do it? don’t have phone numbers, email addresses, nothing. It’s actually a great way to network. I met one person who told me about a FB group that organized maskless get togethers, wouldn’t have met any of them without going on there and joining. They meet once a month. It helped me to find people especially when church, schools and everything else was shut down.
I don’t disagree with you, total time waster. I believe it is mentally unhealthy, a few years back I lost it. This probably sounds really dumb but I was struggling, long story but someone I know posted a video of Aleppo, a hospital with a bunch of kids and music with words at the bottom, it said the children had survived a chlorine bomb in their village but not many survived. Then as it goes on the video shakes and powder filled the hospital. Nurses grabbed babies and held them to their chests as they screamed and cried. It was another chlorine bomb and I knew as I watched it they all died. I called my husband hysterically crying, I know it sounds stupid but I sobbed “how can people be so evil” and a bunch of other stuff. I calmed down but obviously freaked out my husband who was ready to come home and make sure I was ok. Then next day my sisters friend died of breast cancer and I was so stuck in this misery that I saw everyday with crime shows, friends/family posting about abortion and news and just depressing stuff and I thought “this is my life, I just get to watch people die forever” absolutely irrational but I couldn’t handle it. FB/social media is not what broke me but it definitely didn’t help. This was almost 5 years ago and I go in waves because you are correct, it sucks you in.
I still stay with FB because I own 3 Restaurants that people interact with on FB. And Q said not to leave the Battlefield. Every Menu item has a Q hidden in plain sight in the Pic. My private Acc on Tweeech has zero followers, but since yesterday I cannot interact, upvote anymore. Just read.
