QUOTES FROM BOARD MEMBER AT LAST MEETING MINUTES:
-
"I would like to approach this, I guess, I totally agree with what Nancy said, by the way, and thank you for that. I would like to approach this from a much larger scale. What this says to me is we have some disconnects within our community about accepting people that are different from perhaps who we are. This I find extremely troubling, and ‐ OK, I guess they like that. I find it very troubling not only for those of us who are older in this community who believed in something bigger that our community could do. We have lots of forward momentum about acceptance and inclusion and diversity, and we really all need to pull together as a community and recognize differences are what make this country and this community special. So I’m very troubled, again, to say that word three times, that we have to take this step at this point, but I’m hopeful that it will be a short‐term step to ultimately get to what is best for all of our kids, all different areas, all different families, all different lifestyles, all different interests because they’re going to be the ones that live with the decisions we make."

I know the community and the district has been going through the process of looking at our bathrooms. My only wish is I wish we could take every one of you in to show you exactly what these bathrooms are. They are private bathrooms for individuals, and I do believe that it is a safe protocol. It allows our teachers to watch our children from the safety of a hallway rather than the closed door of a bathroom. Unfortunately, because of COVID and because of our current situation, we hope to have these tours open for people to actually see these bathrooms. I’m very hopeful that the 10th District Court of Appeals will approve the Windermere appeal and that we can move on from this issue and get back on education.

let us know what happens.........
then ask them:
Don't worry about that, I have business cards that say "Everything is Transphobic" with the transgender flag colors. I leave them around wherever I go. Everything IS transphobic according to these folks.
Maybe wear a dress?
Kidding, I know it is not funny when you are living it - good luck.
to bad give em hell fern...:)
How about the faculty and administrative restrooms? All unisex there too? If not, you have something to scream about.
Honestly, as an ex-high schooler, I would have loved unisex bathrooms ??
The bitches I woulda railed in the bathrooms instead of behind the bleachers after gym... missed opportunity
Pro Tip:
THEY ARE PEDOPHILES
Know that, when you address them.
I notice they never ask the GIRLS how they feel about having men in their bathrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms etc. It's only ever about the men who pretend to be women's feelings. Transgender Trend is a good blog that follows and fights this crap. Girls will get bladder infections because they don't want to use the restroom. They'll also miss school when they get their periods for the same reason. So much for women's rights.
I'd be looking for hidden cameras in those bathrooms, peepholes, etc. Next there will be leftist talking points printed on the toilet tissue. A little indoctrination to hold you over to the next class.
If you and the other parents cannot make them change it back then it is time to send your kids to a private school or homeschool.
Here in WA my daughter refused to share a bathroom with boys dressed like girls. There was something in the state law (I think) that left the door open for her to use the teachers bathroom. STAFF were not happy abt that!
I would prefer single unisex restrooms. One child at a time, alone and private. if that's what they really are, I don't see the problem?
They seem to be presenting it that way, but this line throws me off.
What could that possibly mean? Doesn't jive with individualized private closed door fully enclosed rooms. Sounds like how they treated the boarder, said it’s nice really, but you can’t see it.
I agree, but can you imagine keeping them clean with teenage boys the way they are??? The girls will never have a chance of a clean bathroom! Yuck!
Ewww. And the boys will have to face the dreaded tampon wrappers in the waste basket! Now I am beginning to see the down sides.
Lol
So the teachers can watch the kids go to the bathroom... is that what they said?
Praying for you and all the parents going. May God speak through you!
They are preying on children. Do not let them!
Carry a sign. "IT IS YOUR JOB TO EDUCATE NOT INDOCTRINATE".
Uhh, I'd not want my kid using a bathroom with kids of the other 70+ genders (that's a lot of bathrooms).
My question would be, what option does my normal kid have (boy/girl) or are they being discriminated against by not being providing their own bathrooms?
Shut that shit down
Don't worry. Their time on this earth is extremely limited...by God's hand or ours.
Most bathrooms are unisex. One person at a time behind closed locked doors. It doesn't sound here like they are making public multi-fixture restrooms unisex. Sounds like one restroom, closed and locked door, one kid and the teachers can monitor use from the hallway.
Then surely they could show photos to testify to that. If they can’t allow covid tours. I get a southern boarder feel. It’s fine, don’t look at the children burritos.
I don't think boys and girls should share bathroom facilities. If they're private, one person at a time, type thing, then that would be o.k. As long as they can close and lock the door & not have anyone barge in on them.
I would write the superintendent with the following points (first do some research on critical theory which all trans arguments are founded on):
Well from what I am reading it could look like a hallway like with a bunch of small bathrooms lined up... They may actually have real human doors instead of those stupid stalls that are designed for people to look through, I've heard that is because of shooting up in stalls, IDK. It actually sounds ok... though done for a very stupid reason.
"Windermere appeal?" Is that someone's name, or is it the location of Windermere, FL?
They'll regret the decision once they realize what Taco Bell can do to a man. Then again, I've heard the ladies room is frequently just as bad if not worse in terms of cleanliness.
"Same-sex bathrooms". ?? What's wrong with that? Do you mean they put in unisex bathrooms?
wtf is that supposed to mean?
Same sex bathrooms? No high school girl is EVER going to shit at school again
get your kids out of that school and into a Christian school
I think a lot of people are confused as to what the term "same sex" means here.
I'm not sure what I did that motivated you to come comment on a dead post. But, ok....
You might want to go look at some of the people here being against kids using same sex bathrooms. Are you against people using same sex bathrooms, too? Do you want kids to be forced to use co-ed bathrooms?
Not sure where the hostility is coming from.
OK, whatever. Life is too short to argue with unstable people.
