I used to follow the climate debate and the similarities to the current political situation are many.
First, a Global scare is required. The scare will be based on a computer model. Anything questionable will be undertaken either by a private organisation (no FOIA) or by a foreign entity or both. Think: Steel Dossier UK and pandemic model UK. That confers plausible deniability if it all unravels.
The media has agreed to present only one side of any story to make the scare look worse than it is. The global nature of the scare will enable the UN and its many branches (e.g. World Bank, World Health Organisation, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change etc) to get involved.
Neither the climate data nor the pandemic data can easily be checked by the people. We have to just believe them. Even if we see cooling they point to warming Arctic nights, for instance. Strangely, the most warming always seems to occur where there are the fewest thermometers!
For the pandemic, the rule is to count cases where a case is not actually a case at all but a positive PCR test result. PCR is not a test and the results can easily be skewed by increasing the number of cycles used. So they can effectively control the number of "cases" by changing the number of cycles in use.
Experts and celebrities were enlisted to push the narrative. Hollywood was involved in both scams as are politicians. The likes of Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson were rolled out just like Fauci is today.

They extracted $billions from the compliant rich countries and promised it to the poor countries if they would vote to accept all the climate restrictions. They also tried to impose "carbon credits" which is euphemism for global tax. That global tax could then be used to finance the UN and so make it a self-financing body suitable to govern the world.
