I hate that we live in such a time that the truth is SO untold and covered up, that when presenting facts to others, you're looked at as fricking insane and untrustworthy; as if the info you share is so far-fetched and unreal. (And usually, most topics aren't even the big ones that you KNOW they'd never accept.) Ahhh, the matrix is a bitch!

No one will or should take your word for anything. You need to prove any assertions with links and references. Otherwise it's just your opinion.
There is a difference between info that has been much talked about and there are plenty of easy-to-find references with a simple Duck Duck Go search, and something totally new or unique that hasn't been spoken of before. For instance, there is a mass of information on cv issues, we all know who the main doctors are, and anyone can search for themselves. It's not necessary for everyone posting what these well-known people have said to go dig up links so lazy people don't have to,
When I post something in a comment that I think people might not know about, I do take the time to go find a link. But when people want to be spoon-fed so they don't have to do any of their own research, that is BS and I'm not going to coddle them. For some of these people, the first thing that comes out of their mouths is, Give Me Links. Just lazy.
I agree with you. AND would be grateful they ask for a link to check instead of ignoring what I am telling them. It is hard enough for us sometimes to find the information we are looking for, since so much has been memory holed by big tech.
If you have the information, give it to them, then when they see you are right they will be encouraged to do their own research.
I would always try to give some info to back up what I say. People digest thing when they go away and start to think about what you said.
I absolutely do not need to prove shit with a link. They can go and look it up, just as we all have. Links may make it easy, but if they don't accept the info I share as valid, why would they accept my link as such? Do the work yourself - period.

It's no one's job to provide you with links. Again, links are helpful to the interested, if you've got them available (and if I do, I will share; in this case, I didn't) but if someone shares something valid and important with you and you choose to not absorb it or believe it because they didn't share a link, that's on you. The informant doesn't give a shit - they're simply sharing to those who ARE interested and those who WILL research.

Yep! You're right about that. And it's usually the ones who want the links, who won't read the shit. If someone is only interested in something that's sourced, and is looking for said link, they're probably this type of person to begin with. A wise man will go out and seek the truth on his own. It's the fucking internet for crying out loud. You can find a link to support almost any opinion! So as I keep saying.. go find it on your own and stop being reliant on others.

If it's a reference to a specific issue, maybe a link is appropriate.

I run into this all the time outside of GAW. I was debating some statements our governor gave concerning COVID and specifically gave the state web page (name) where I found conflicting info I found from the state. Had some Karen ask for the link. I explained that it was front and center on the XXXX page. I was dismissed because I didn't link for the lazy people.
With that said, I have been asked for links here when I post an upcoming interview with Trump on some MSM station. Really? "Trump interview upcoming on Fox" needs a link? ?
