Let me preface this by saying that Time is of the Essence, and I don't have enough of it to flush this dig out as much as I'd like. I’m so rushed, I’ll try to make this acceptably coherent. Apologies in advance.
I will read (but might not reply) to any follow up digs with great interest.
Somehow I stumbled upon the edge of the Crispin Glover rabbit hole. I don't remember how, probably by following one of the innumerable crumbs Twin Peaks radiates like a Black Hole Sun (another enormous Rabbit Hole). Actually, I just remembered. It was following the Michael Jackson rabbit hole. Turns out Crispin “covered” MJ’s song “Ben” and turned it into something strange. He accompanied it with a music video that he directed.

Then I discovered Mr. Glover wrote an essay, more of a poem really, about an experimental film he’d directed entitled “What Is It?” (2005). I have not YET seen the film. You bet I will. Regardless, the essay is, appropriately called “What Is It? (An essay concerning the subtext of the film by the same title) by Crispin Hellion Glover”.
Maybe at one point this essay was easier to find on the internet and more people were discussing it. Maybe it’s never been particularly easy to find, as it’s an oddity by an odd man who just happens to Hollywood Star (though, he’s certainly went about his career choices in a peculiar way… Very non-traditional. Hrm…).

I'm not much of an expert on Jackson, but my general impression was that he was more likely to have been molested than to be a molester. There were rumors he was chemically castrated to keep his voice from changing, and he never did develop what would be considered an adult male voice.

I have personally worked with Crispin Glover as a “projectionist/performer” for one evening only, but it was an amazing time.
The quite liberal audience and woke film festival organizers were suddenly shocked when a trailer for one of his films featured a character in black face momentarily- all hell broke lose in the booth, “SHUT THIS RACIST DOWN NOW!!! There’s racism and there’s art and this is just racism!” I manned the audio controls for dear life and kept his mic on, Crispin was doing an audience Q&A, noticed the hubbub and even went so far as to say “It is interesting times, and even right this very moment the left is trying to silence free speech as we speak here...”
He is a very dignified guy, certainly peculiar and even wanted to be paid in brand new, sequential 20’s... I quit that film festival immediately after that performance.

Don't know the man, barely know his work. But what I'm discovering certainly indicates a unique mind. As you said "dignified". That's generally a good quality, though it can go sideways in Film Noir.
Glover was interesting as Andy Warhol in The Doors, about which Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks connection) as Ray Manzarek said “Let’s get out of here. These people are vampires.” (These people being Warhol’s “Factory” people, pornographers, and Velvet Underground). The Doors was directed by Oliver Stone who also directed JFK. Oliver’s son Sean had a small role as boyhood Jim Morrison witnessing “Indians scattered on dawn’s highway bleeding, ghosts crowd the young child’s fragile eggshell mind.” Sean Stone went on to be a supposed whistleblower of Hollywood debauchery and secret societies. He’s Muslim now?
