How is Christianity not a religion? I don’t understand why religion has such a bad connotation these days. False religions are bad. True religions are good.
The link you sent admits Christianity fits the definition of a religion but just talks about how it’s better than other religions… yeah, obviously, because it’s the only one that’s true. I’m a Christian too, my problem is with this weird assumption that religions are intrinsically false. Going along with that assumption and jumping through hoops about it is weird. Do religious freedoms not apply to Christians? It’s just simpler to say that Christianity is the one true religion.

If you do repent and do good works consistently, and hold Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you do achieve salvation and advancement to Heaven. What we do, every hour of every day, directly determines our advancement and salvation. That's precisely one of the the core teachings of Christianity.
Unfortunately, if you do good works for selfish reasons, you are no better than a sinner. There is a time for you, there's a time for God, and there is a time for everyone else. In other words, you'll need to learn how to dance.

Christ is a mindset and not God? I think it’s pretty simple: if Jesus resurrected after being crucified then He’s God as He claimed and Christianity is true, if not then He’s not and Christianity is false.
Anyway, if you somehow believe in the Bible and not Christianity, I’d advise you to look at Matthew 28:19 (where Jesus tells us to make disciples of all nations) and Matthew 16:24 (where Jesus explicitly calls upon us to follow him). It’s actually quite clear throughout the Gospel.
Where I do agree with you is that people do twist the word of God to fit their own needs. That doesn’t mean Christianity, the belief in and worship of the Trinitarian God, has to be false somehow.

This is a job for creative destruction. The corrupt and incompetent status quo in all of those areas must be dismantled so that better alternatives can take their place... or maybe just by substituting better people in those professions.
