there was an attempt to bring back USSR by the State Committee on the State of Emergency that consisted of 8 old soviet communists in 1991. They had army at their disposal, tanks were rolled into Moscow, among others on the Red Square, but the old communists chickened out and didn't give the order to attack. I was 14 when it happened and I remember my mother telling me - do not say anything to anyone about USSR, communism, or the State Committee until we know what is going on. She was scared that arrests would happen again.
God damn that's brutal. That must have been terrifying.

Just had a couple F-16s fly over my house.
Of course, I live about 20 miles from Holloman AFB...

Do we have to use the Lords name is vain people? Just needed to say something.
Thank you! I cringe whenever I hear or read that! I even told my wife that when she casually says "Lord", it is taking the Lord's name in vain. She realized I was right.
Exactly. I have a habit of saying “oh Lord” myself. And I’m trying to break that as well. Satan thinks it’s funny I’m sure for us to fall into these habits. But the GD words really goes up my spine. Hate to see people casually use it, in most likely a harmless way because, of old habits die hard. But it’s is hurtful to our Lord and disrespectful. So I feel the need to call it out, and hope others call me out as well. Let us honor and worship Him, not disrespect, myself included. Even if we mean no harm.
Think I’m gonna go with “my goodness”, or just “goooodness” or maybe what someone else has said in my life, “goooood niiiight”, kinda thing. 👍
I guess I was too young and too inexperienced to be scared. Also my puppy died the day before so ironically this coup attempt helped me to cope. And the whole ordeal lasted 3 days in total. Those old communist alcoholics were visibly shaking during press conference on tv so it looked a lot like a clown show to begin with.
Smart Mom.
well it was natural reaction of any soviet person I guess, besides her father (my grandfather) was sent to a concentration camp by Stalin as a young man, so yeah being scared of the government came naturally.
Your people paid a high price. It is a tragedy.
I hope you are on our team now. We need folks like you.
thank you and I am. Sadly too many ex-soviet people are on board with the modern medical dictatorship.
