We actually had an object travel over Sydney and the Central Coast (north of Sydney) Australia a couple of weeks ago. Fake news said it was a weather satellite but it looked ominous. Bit of intimidation me thinks from China. What would happen if that was flown over America taking a similar trajectory? https://youtu.be/fa3H9XQCmIU
After midnight, not in a down town area, you can easily see 19-22 satellites per HOUR. What most people think is a UFO, is 99% of the time, the ISS.
You can go online, and see exactly what time of day it will pass right over your house.
What throws everyone off about it how it appears / disappears.
Satellites are a LOT higher and moving a LOT slower than the ISS. Thus, they are constantly being lit up by the sun as they cross the sky. The ISS is going over 1000 mph. As it passes across the earth, in front of the sun, it disappears, only to reemerge further away as it leaves Earth's shadow.
It looks like this bright, faster moving light just appears from a section of the sky, goes across at a really good clip and then just fades away / disappears a lot faster than it should. That is beyond most likely what you saw.
There are a group of satellites named Irridium. They are coated with extra reflective material, for which I can't remember why. These satellites do the same thing as the ISS. You see them coming, then they get really really bright for a second or two and then fade back.
Only high-altitude satellites (high enough you can't see them) are traveling slower than the ISS. The ISS is in low earth orbit (LEO) and is traveling at ~17,000 mph. Other LEO satellites are traveling at a similar speed.
The Iridium reflective covering is to prevent the satellite from heating up too much under continual sunlight (about 1.3 kw/m2).
Came here to say this! 😄
Coincidentally the ISS came over our area only a few early mornings ago. 😀What do you think that ‘rocket’ in the sky was?
fyi - the flight tracker, https://globe.adsbexchange.com/, shows the ISS and it's path real time. (of course, only when it's over the specific area of map you are viewing at the time).
I saw the starlink string bean a few years ago in the AZ sky before it was talked about. I tripped out for a few mins until someone pulled it up online and it matched exactly.
The material they are coated with provides extra protect against the sun's rays for astronomical studies.
SecDef Lloyd Christmas and CJCS Milley Dunne have it covered. They've ordered more White Rage seminars and tranny generals at the Pentagon.
those are swallows of Capistrano, not salmon. Kek.
I see a dozen or more almost every night where I live. It's really fascinating.
I moved here about 2 years ago and the elevation here is much higher than where I was living. I'd say it's probably normal but seems strange to me since I'm not used to seeing the sky so clear at night at this elevation. Either it's increasing or I'm just looking at the skies more.
Beyond normal to see a few a night. I'm a hard core amateur astronomer, always looking up at night. Honest, if I DON'T see one per evening, I find it weird.
Watched a really good one actually just last night from the front deck while out having a smoke. Every month except June I believe have somewhat of a meteor shower. But seriously, 100%+ normal to see a shooting star every night.
very normal ;)
What if they are obsolete satellites being knocked out of orbit?? Or, possibly active threats...
Weird, because I just saw a shooting star a couple nights ago, when I was outside with my kids. I haven't seen one of those since the 90s. Maybe I should start looking at the sky more often & see if I see anything.
I’ll keep an eye. Have you noticed how much brighter 1-2 stars/planets are in the sky? It just stands out to me almost every night
After further investigation it was determined that this was just a helicopter.
Doesnt this photo sorta look like that photo Q posted about POTUS being targeted near Alaska?
Yup. The obvious missile launch from the area around Whidbey Island, WA that was hand-waved away as a searchlight beam from a helicopter that was flying with no lights on. L frickin’ O L.
Do we need a series of memes illustrating the intelligence community "caught by surprise"?
Sure, sure, last time it was their imaginary spacecraft, this time it's their imaginary missile. https://chinabigidea.substack.com/p/one-small-step-long-vision-2035-action
Doesn't look like a missile. Looks like a light ray.
Can someone determine if this photo is real or doctored? Idk how to do that. Could be more disinfo. I suspect everything at this point.
Well shit, I saw a planet by the sun that didn't belong there. A big one and the moon was out opposite. Lots of people saw it.
lol no. you didn't
Jupiter is close to the moon right now. High in the south east after sun down
If you're referring to Mercury, you'd never see it while the Sun is out. Not without a huge telescope that's sun blocked. Venus is on the opposite side right now and can't be seen for a few more weeks - that'll be in the west near and after sunset.
I don't think we're looking at Trump's Space Force here--I think we're talking about Reagan's Star Wars.
I love Space Force.
