It's crazy to me how people can think Christianity can be progressive.
What is sin? It's to disobey God's orders.
Gods Law is above man's conscience, morality and social norms. NEVER set the standards of sin upon our own consciences based on social norms. The sins of our consciences are not in accord with what God has defined as sin. Therefore we should not listen to our consciences, but rather base the standards of sin on God's commandments.
The most serious sin is to disregard the Word of God. God gave us the law in the first place to make us realize our sins and punishment for them. Everyone should admit your sins and ask God to save you. You have to give up your own standards. Don't be arrogant and think you can live by Gods law either, no one is redeemed through their works. The one who is to be saved may think of himself as the worst sinner. Those who don't know themselves live hypocritical lives trying to hide their sinful selves in front of God. Jesus came to call the sick, the sinners to righteousness. Receive Jesus' love and admit you have committed many wrongs.
He has taken away the worlds sin onto himself at his baptism and carried it to the cross, where he bled to death with the worlds sin. We are free from sin through his actions. Its your belief in his works with a repentant heart that saves you. All sin requires the offering of a blood sacrifice because all sin results in death. This is why in Hebrews 10 it makes it a point to let everyone know those daily sacrifices they've done up until that point could never truly take away their sin. Because once you sin, don't you have to remove your sin once again through another blood sacrifice? So Jesus came once, and made everyone perfect who draws near. Even though you have to wash your feet daily you're completely clean through his righteous works.
This is the exact line you get when you ask a jew if circumcision is moral. Sure, we can't understand everything about God, but God for sure should be questioned. God is unconditional love. God should love his children questioning about his wonderful creation, learning more about it, how he set it up, why he did it that way.
Romans:
28 For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh. 29 On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart—by the Spirit, not the letter.[a] That man’s praise[b] is not from men but from God.
The physical mutilation is not of Christ, a Chlristian circumcision is inward, of the heart and spirit, not the mutilation of the body prescribed by the Pharisees.
I'm aware of that passage, I'm just trying to say that not questioning religious dogma and people who preach it is how you get shit like child genital mutilation straight out of the womb.
God gave us brains for a reason.
I do not question the dogma of Jesus Chirdt, the son of God, He will not lead you astray. He was sent to question and revolt against the dogma of the Pharisees, who were preaching false and destructive teachings.
I'm sure the jews would say pretty much the same thing about their religion.
I'm sure they would, but Jesus was sent by God to show the Israelites the wickedness of their ways, and look where that got him. Thankfully, we who have faith know we are saved through his death and resurrection.

Yeah, there is a lot to consider in this vein.
Babies are baptized because Church teaching was that unbaptized people go to Hell automatically. Lots of babies used to die, so you baptized them ASAP to prevent them from going to Hell if they died early.
But if God is all-knowing, all-loving and all-powerful... then this makes no sense. An all-knowing and all-loving being would never damn a baby over baptism. An all-powerful being could bring an unbaptized person to Heaven.
So to insist babies should be baptized is to DENY God as all-knowing, all-loving and all-powerful. It is a MORTAL SIN to deny God. It's sacrilege.
If you continue this line of thinking.....
If God is an all knowing, all powerful being, why would he make his truth only in one religion, one book? You'd think you'd be able to find truth regardless of where you were born. Does God just damn everyone thats never heard of Christianity? Does he damn people in Africa who don't have the ability to comprehend faith?
None of that makes any sense if God is an all knowing all powerful and loving being.
If he's that, he wouldn't damn anyone at all for anything. I think he would give them infinite chances to learn about his creation, use their free will how they choose.

God has showed up in dreams, visions, and interactions in other parts of the world though, ex:

The official Church line was that people who never got a chance to accept Jesus were off the hook, AFAIK.
Which makes the whole "bring the Word of God to the world" thing weird. You could just get rid of Christianity and therefore save everyone.
I think the counter balance is supposed to be "Jesus died for your sins" thing, and so we have to minimize sin to minimize His suffering.
Sounds like a plug for reincarnation there, haha.
My Jesuit religion teacher in high school would say all religions are ladders to the same roof. You can make all of them work with the same God expressing Himself different ways if you want to.
There are 67 versions of the Bible in English alone. The Word has been corrupted. But the important parts made it through such as loving your enemies and turning the other cheek, things Christians conveniently forget... Oh and of course don't get in between a Christian and bacon. Afterall you can pick and choose which laws to follow.
“Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.“
Romans 14:20
“Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15 Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.”
17 After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.””
Mark 7:16-20
“These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules”
Isaiah 29:13
Eating from unclean animals is considered ceremonially unpure for seeking God and in past times was dangerous for health reasons (pork can have parasites). Jesus declares its sin not food that really gets between you and God. The formality of those laws is teach the sin and mortality that makes you a different being than God. But Jesus came to cleanse our hearts from the inside out.
There are parts of the Bible that are there for "faith" and parts that are there for "life". The "unclean food" was because for long parts of human history eating certain foods had a high likelihood you were going to die.
Old Testament God didn't care about pigs or shellfish, but a law against them was created because it saved lives.
Later, when those foods were no longer dangerous, they tried to get rid of the law forbidding it, but since they had used God as the excuse the first time, people pushed back.
It's possible that Jesus said those things about those foods, but it's also possible that the Church added them in the 100-200 years after Jesus before the Bible was written.
The point of "divine inspiration" is not that everything in the Bible happened as described, but that it exists (or existed) for a good reason. The difficulty sometimes is determining what is or is not necessary.
A good example there is tattoos. Back in the day, people got a tattoo, it got infected, they died. Thus the Lord says: no tattoos. Today, getting a tattoo is pretty safe in most places. Should we allow tattoos? Probably? But "my body is a temple"... sure, most temples have images and artwork that glorify God, so why not decorate your temple in His name?
I don't have tattoos and don't plan to, but it's a good example of the gray area and original cause/effect intention for these rules.
This is true. And that is why God gave those guidelines. People love to be legalistic but that’s never the point. God has always been intentional and purposeful with good reason. Jesus often pointed out nuance and real good conduct. Because it’s about the heart and doing the right thing, not strict thoughtless behavior.
No. Pork causes cancer.
You perfectly capture my own understanding of it. Well put!
White guilt is something invented by hillary clinton to further divide us. Reparation for black people should have happened when slavery ended. It didn't. What I know is that Jesus died for our sins, and there is absolutely nothing you can compare to that from this world that even comes close. Despite what the idiot liberals want to brainwash you with, black people have all the same rights today as white people (if not more) and everyone else in America. The opportunity is there if you want to work for it. Don't forget about affirmative action - black people will get hired at some places to meet a quota whether they're qualified or not. Not to mention things like the United Negro College Fund - what do you think would happen if I started a charity called the United Caucasian College Fund? People would lose their damn minds calling me a racist. How about we start the White Lives Matter movement? How do you think that would go over? You've got your reparations already, trust me.
And no, we did not see millions of blacks enslaved, nobody who actually saw that with their own eyes is still alive. It's been over 150 years. We know it happened, and we also know that America is where it stopped. There are actual slaves and slavery going on in Africa right now. I wish everyone who states that reparations are a good thing would go over there and do something about it. There is slavery happening NOW in the world - what are you doing to help put a stop to that?
Jesus died for OUR sins, not for what Adam & Eve did. And that's not a matter of guilt, it's a matter of faith - if you believe in Jesus, and accept Him into your heart, then you can take comfort in knowing you are forgiven for your sins. I don't know about you, but I rejoice in that rather than feeling guilty.
I personally have a hard time with the concept of white guilt because I can honestly say my family had absolutely nothing to do with slavery. My mom and dad came here from Europe in 1956 and 1972, respectively. My bloodline stems from Yugoslavia and Germany. Nobody in my family ever owned a slave - never. Why on earth do I owe black people money for what people in America did back then? Not all white people have a responsible blood line. And so, as with everything else, you can't just say "all white people" or "all black people" about anything. If your great great great grand dad owned slaves and you feel bad about that, that's your right - do what you need to do in order to feel better about it. But it's not right or fair to put that on ALL white people, because some of us honestly had nothing to do with it. Think about the boom of immigration in the 1920s to this country from Europe alone - LOTS of white people are in the same boat I am, with no ties to slavery in their bloodline.
And why do we only blame white people for slavery? Was it not the black people of Africa who sold those slaves to whitey?? Had those black people told the white people to fuck off or killed them or did something to stop it, slavery wouldn't have happened. So let's keep that in mind as well, along with how many white people died in the civil war AND in the civil rights movement defending the rights of black men and women to be free.
Not to mention - none of the black people who live now were ever tortured or enslaved like their own ancestors were. It seems to me that the idea of reparations should be highly insulting for an honest black person - what price would you set for the life of a slave and all their hard work, being whipped, starved and generally treated like shit their whole lives. Is there an amount of money that would make something like that OK? There isn't. There is no amount of money that would ever make up for that atrocity. I just think the best we can do now is treat each other with respect, realize that we are all God's children, and try to live in peace with one another. Things like "white guilt" are there to divide us and cause tension where there just doesn't need to be.
Yes, he died for us as an act of Grace and mercy.
I mean, you're obviously brainwashed.
Europeans went to Africa and bought African slaves from African slavers. The only "responsible" party is the African nations enslaving each other (which they still do today - Kony 2012).
Said African, not black. But your racism is leaking.
You're right about that.
Original sin and white guilt are not the same at all. No offense, but you need a lot of bible study if you believe that.
That's not how burden of proof works.
I forgot my finger in there, but in concept, chihuahuas and great Danes are the same as well with that logic :)
I don't mind explaining my thought when I have time. You should also be aware that most, if not all, people have been enslaved. Look into the Barbary slave trade, the numbers and brutality, it far surpasses black slavery in the Americans, especially North American where very few European Americans owned slaves.
Thank you, I do not have timel, it is a very ciomplex subject, I would recommend digging into it. God bless, often!
Original sin has the set the stage for separation from God. It’s merely the default now because we are fallen beings.
But everyone becomes a participant of their own volition of sin in the same way as Adam and Eve - wronging others, deciding good and evil for themselves, and rejecting God.
There is no separation from an omni-present deity.
We used to walk directly beside Him. Not anymore.
From children to enemies.
—
“Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear”
—
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be”
—
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
He's either omni-present or he's not. Make up your mind.
He can be everywhere and is. He knows and sees all.
But Him being “everywhere” isn’t the same as hanging out with Him.
This is obvious. Jesus talking to people versus the Holy Spirit being around us is different.
I’m looking forward to seeing God face to face again.
Holding generations accountable for the acts of two strangers is pretty shitty.
Other than that, I guess he's a decent deity (minus the also shitty reward system of faith) (on and then there's the old testament but we'll not address that either).
Personally, for me, I'm going with Thor or Odin.
Original sin is a Catholic doctrine, and is not based on the Word of God. Instead, it's based on tradition.
Therefore, you have a problem with Pope Paul VI and his statements at the Council of Trent-
http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/p1s2c1p7.htm#396
I agree with you that babies are born completely innocent.
I was raised Catholic and became an agnostic based on clear contradictions I discovered between traditions and what it said in the Bible itself.
It wasn't until many years later that I discovered many of the Catholic traditions are based on paganism and have nothing to do with Christianity as taught by Jesus and the apostles.
It would be more accurate I think to look at it this way:
Original sin has the set the stage for separation from God. It’s merely the default now because we are fallen beings. Adam and Eve sinned and caused a new status quo that we inherit. We are separate from God and not perfect beings.
But everyone becomes a participant of their own volition of sin in the same way as Adam and Eve - wronging others, deciding good and evil for themselves, and rejecting God. Thus we all become guilty by our own participation.
Jesus doesn't change but some people have, from time to time, introduced false doctrines that have become core beliefs of the church.
By reading the scripture, particularly by using the interlinear bible and comparing the definition of particular Greek and Hebrew words with the translated word that was used.
Ask yourself if you need to keep the Sabbath but first identify what day it is.
If you only follow Jesus's teachings you will live a happy and fulfilling life. But even then you might not agree with everything He says and that's okay. Agreement is not the goal. Being right right isn't the goal either. In fact, I don't knkw what the goal is, but I can rule out being an asshole.
This is why you plant your feet on solid rock...very comforting.
Jesus is that solid rock. His words and deeds are proof. Avoid false "prophets" who will twist his words and deeds for fame and profit.
Hallelujah! Let that sink in to those other religions who think they can change ours. Jesus never changes, nor does our Lord who created us. God bless all the true believers around the world. Amen,
Jesus never established a religion.
No , He did NOT , but through Christianity we follow his teachings to this day, and we wouldn't want anyone to change the way we worship him, follow him, testify for him and teach through him. Amen.
“If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:26-27
Christianity IS a false religion. Why are there so many different denominations mostly built on Paulism and his interpretation? While some Christians are very kind and giving people, many others are extremely judgmental and responsible for putting a bad taste in people's mouths. The church doesn't exist to be the moral dictator. There is a reason the founding fathers didn't copy paste the Torah as our law. God's Law, in this current iteration is a personal choice. It is meant to be followed willingly not forcefully.
Until Christ comes to establish His rule, we are to love unconditionally and surrender judgement to the Lord. Just because someone has a different lifestyle than you does not mean you can't love them and you have no obligation to partake in their sin.
Most importantly, learn to recognize the difference between sin and evil. One can lead to the other, but they are not mutually exclusive. Christ also specifically died for one. And yes, the distinction is very important.
Messages like this are confusing because there's a difference between a church that condones transexuals (Catholicism) or polyamory (Mormonism) and a church that lets women wear shorts or men have long hair
Let's not have people thinking any form of modern Christianity is depraved. It's not. Strict and literal Biblical doctrine would paint most of us as the worst of sinners.
The church doesn't exist to judge sin.
Amen
Amen! :) Jesus is not only our rock, but our boulder!
Wells said.
Cannot miss this opportunity seemingly served up for me:
TRUTH is everlasting and immutable.
Amen!
Well said that man!
I’ve just been discussing something similar with a mod who claims that Q is Jesus communicating with the US Military through quantum computers.
But the Bible is the incorruptible word. The coming of the Son of Man will be at a day and an hour that no one is expecting and only the Father knows when. Not even Jesus himself knows.
But apparently Jesus had been communicating all along with the Army, has been telegraphing his coming all this while and is just awaiting the perfect moment for his big reveal!
The Bible is all you need, and the guidance and insight of honest Bible scholars, honest pastors.
No one should attempt to reinterpret the words of God or of Jesus.
Remember there will be many false prophets coming in his name.
What's the Jesus truth of Wi-Fi? Vaccines? Capitalism?
Vaccines are Pharmakeia, therefore sorcery, dark magic, occultism. To be avoided as fleshly as sinful.
Here GAW most everyone still worships gun toting white Republican Jesus.
In Islam it is forbidden to try to change the words or meanings of the Koran punishable by death. There can never be a reformation like some christian religions went through.
Imam Tahidi disagrees.
Christianity is not about "universalism", it is about Jesus Christ saving us through his death and resurrection. Universalism is the religion of the NWO, a one world religion where Jesus is a mere man, not God. Lucifer is god of the NWO.
Christianity is more about Paul than Jesus
Absolutely false.
Not into videos to explain oneself. If you can explain how Christianity is not centered on Christ, I would love to hear it from you. Christianity is being about saved through faith in the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
As I just said, I won't be watching any videos. If you have points to make them, please.
Lol. No.
I was raised a Christian, but this is the biggest reason why I don't have faith. Christianity in itself has always progressed with the times, and I've said that since I was 14 and figured it out myself... It's always about them trying to take my money and peddle whatever is currently going on in the world. How did I realize this at 14 years old (approximately)? I read the bible, god is perfect and does not make mistakes, meaning god does not "change his mind". So one thing nobody can answer is this: Is Moses in hell? Why is it a sin for me to have multiple wives, but it was ok for him to have? God changed his mind, or did God make a mistake... that can't be.. so it was perversion of the bible or teachings that made this acceptable or unacceptable.. I didn't need current times, nor anything, to realize this. I have been to war, I have been in a lot of situations, the other thing I have witness about Christians is they are the most scared out of all religions to die. I'm not here to argue or discuss, but I completely disagree with this to the fiber of my soul. For the sake of everyone and for humanity, I would rather be wrong here.
Going against God's laws and standards of morality stated in the Bible is never progressive, but rather will lead one into spiritual immaturity and condemnation in the sight of God. https://youtu.be/rozUMRlOE_4?t=13m28s
But bacon is allowed now.
A good write up:
https://fundamentalbaptistchristian.blogspot.com/2018/01/misunderstanding-turn-other-cheek-can.html?m=1
This is more accurate interpretation of that verse:
https://fundamentalbaptistchristian.blogspot.com/2018/01/misunderstanding-turn-other-cheek-can.html?m=1
The real meaning of that verse is to not escalate petty squabbles. When a troll insults you, you can just move on. Or someone gets huffy you can be gracious. It’s not referring to larger injury or problems than that in this verse.
Restitution for injury or wrongdoing against you is another big part of the law and God’s ideal conduct.
That’s quite a reach.
I can only vouch for what I believe, I won’t argue against other hypothetical (or biblically ignorant) Christians. I don’t personally know any that are happy about it and most are armed.
Acts 17:26 “and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation”
Deuteronomy 32:8 “When the Most High assigned lands to the nations, when he divided up the human race, he established the boundaries of the peoples according to the number in his heavenly court [spiritual beings entrusted with watching over a people group].”
There are subversives pretending to be Christians. Individuals and organizations. Some are on someone else’s payroll.
God will judge according to what’s in the heart.
The theology is of Heaven and Hell is like this:
Heaven: Where God is; Those want to practice goodness according to God’s ways and be with Him
“Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.“
Hell (doesn’t exist yet, will be made after the great judgement): Where people who don’t want to be around God are sent; Where God’s presence is not; Where people who want to decide good and evil for themselves and do things God deems wrong; Where people are punished for unrepentence of sin
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars“
God offers everyone a free ticket out of Hell. Everyone starts separate and unrepentant towards God so that’s the default destiny. No one is worthy of Heaven or meets the criteria. But God wants to be with all of His children, so He sticks out His hand to us.
I see nothing to update about the wisdom and character of God as the inspiration for my conduct or in how I interact with Him.
Just want to remind everybody, since everyone here is opposed to the NWO, that the NWO WILL come to pass.
It’s going to happen and it’s going to reign awhile.
... which is why Orthodoxy is the one true Church. There are no others.
Lol
