Going to sound strange but I think we should be praying for mercy for our enemies...
✝️ Scripture 🕊️
God will win and His might is beyond what we can imagine. Those that are the enemy of God will suffer enormous loss. Pray for God to have mercy on even those that are against Him.
Remember we were all against Him before He came looking for us and found us.
I agree, God has put this on my heart. We have a weekly prayer meeting. We pray for requested prayers, family, the nation/world, etc. Last night I was compelled to pray for Alec Baldwin. Doesn’t matter what I think or feel about him, God wanted me to pray for him. We prayed for him just like he had requested prayer.
I know this is what makes a good Christian. And it's the part I struggle with the most. I pray for guidance in situations like this. We do need to love even our enemies, but boy is that easier said than done. Example: I went to pickup an online order from Red Robin Friday night for dinner. Their service really sucked that evening, I called their pickup number and dialed 4 for the curbside service about 7 times, and was kept on a loop where nobody answered. So I walked in, picked up my cold food that was sitting there, staff was less than friendly, whatever - just take the food home so my family can eat.
Upon walking out to my car, I saw a couple sitting in their car waiting the same way I was, and I knew they were waiting in vain as I was, so I tried to make eye contact. If I didn't have bags of food and my purse in my hands, I might have knocked on the window, but that wasn't possible, so I was hoping my smile might have caught their attention. They rolled down the window, and the male driver started shouting, "YOU GOT A PROBLEM??" Mind you, I have my son (11) and granddaughter (8) with me. I said no, I don't have a problem, and was about to start telling them about the lax service they can expect, when he continued yelling, "WELL THEN WHY THE FUCK YOU LOOKIN AT ME?" and he went on to say "YOU KEEP LOOKIN IN HERE YOU GONNA FIND SUMPIN YOU DON'T LIKE" and was just a general asshole, you get the picture. In that moment, I was so offended by this guy yelling at me like I was doing something wrong, I thought, fuck him, let him wait and figure it out like I did, why should I help him or save him any time? I said, "whatever, man" and got in my car to go home.
I realize what I should have done was to calmly explain to him why I was trying to make eye contact and do what I intended to do in the first place. Maybe he might have realized he was wrong for yelling and assuming I was (well I don't know what he was assuming, I don't get why people get mad at you for looking at them). Maybe we could have parted ways in a friendlier manner. Like I said, I struggle with this kind of thing because my pride gets in the way. I know better, but in practice it's a lot harder to do what we know is right. Thank the heavens for God's grace. I don't know where I'd be without it.
Well my husband wasn't with me, just my kids. I have no doubt that, had my husband been there, the dude would have had his ass kicked. I appreciate your support! :)
That's why Jesus said to turn the other cheek.
Not to take a beating, but to ignore unkind word.
And if they don't listen to the good news you share, shake the dust from your sandals and move on.
NO DEALS and the people shall show ZERO mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is God’s job.
God will Judge our Enemies
We'll Arrange The Meeting
Yup. No mercy for evil. Bleeding hearts BTFO: Your so called compassion is just a weak excuse for lack of courage to rid us of the evil among us.
Mercy and Justice can co-exist. Death penalty is a kind of mercy because it forces a sinner to contemplate their eternal destiny. Yes they should face justice, but in mercy we should pray that they repent and ultimately find redemption. Similar to Darth Vader turning from the dark side, or the redemption of St. Paul for killing so many Christians.
No, as a Christian it’s your job to try and be and act as close to Jesus Christ as possible. You will fail. And Jesus already paid the price for your failures/sins. Understand, if you hate on your brother, with a passion like some have here in their hearts, in God’s eyes...it’s the same as murder. I don’t mean to say you MUST love everyone, it’s difficult. But you can pray for them. And can pray for mercy. Doesn’t mean they will get it. Trust me, God had wrath. You don’t want it upon your head do you?
I believe He said love your neighbor as yourself.
"Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"
Mercy is certainly warranted for those that truly repent. The others, not so much. This is what God has taught us.
Mercy, grace, and love are given freely, not conditionally, to all people by God. We have the ability to reject or accept these attributes of God.
Acceptance=Salvation (forgivess of our sins).
Rejection=Condemnation (eternal death).
We can emulate God by showing grace, mercy and love UNCONDITIONALLY to those that persecute or sin against us. Whether or not a person repents only affects their eternal relationship with. God...it really doesn't affect our ability to demonstrate these attributes to those who we would consider enemies. "For by grace are YOU saved, through faith, not of your own, it is a GIFT from God that no man should boast". After all, when someone sins against us, it is really sinning against God...the same thing we are all guilty of. Forgivess is ours to freely give to others and is not dependent on a person's repentence. When we understand that it is extremely freeing because we can only do that because we know Christ and the grace, mercy, love and forgiveness that has set us free.
Also, none of the above negates justice. Edit: It is hard to accept that God loves all mankind equally but "For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There are none righteous, NO NOT ONE." God loves the sinner but HATES the sin, as we should.(it's hard or sure).
Beautifully typed. Thank you Anon. WWG1WGA.
Mercy is not given freely! It is given to those who have a contrite heart. Read the Bible again. There’s no blanket mercy for everybody. It’s very excepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that mercy is given.
The point is whether or not it is accepted by us though our free will choice...the giving of mercy is like a river that flows...you can take a drink from the river but nothing can stop the flow (well maybe beavers). I have read the Bible though several times and attended a Christian College so I am not totally inept. This speaks to the greatness of God and has nothing to do with the failures of man.
Yes but to take a drink of the river of mercy, you have to know Jesus. You have to know God. No one‘s going to be looking for a Mercy River on their own will. They have to be shown Jesus Christ, they have to be exposed and witness to. It is when they except Christ, that they are able to even drink from that river.
I am not disagreeing with the fact that we should be praying for our enemies, but having mercy on evil, is not who God is in particular. Once we except Jesus Christ, except our failures, except our sin, and ask for forgiveness. That’s where we arrive at the mercy seat. Also I’m not gonna go back and fix all the different words that Siri changes like accept!
Even David had to fight the evil in his life. He didn’t show mercy to Goliath! He picked up five smooth stones, and use them to destroy his enemy, and thus saving the Israelites!
However; I do pray for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Along with others, but in the meantime… The wages of sin is death. Not mercy. Until these people Accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will not be visiting the mercy seat!
That is their choice, buy free will, their choice alone!
Like I said grace, mercy, love and forgiveness does not negate justice. Yes, we must hear the Word and then choose to believe the Word...that is our part. If I extend my hand with a gift for you, you have the choice to accept or reject. It does not affect the fact that I am offering you a gift and so it is with God.
What seperates us from God is sin and Jesus became the lamb who was sacrificed for us, who took our sin as His own and paid the penalty for us. That is grace...giving us something we don't deserve or unmerited favor. God's mercy allows God to forgive us though the perfect blood sacrifice of His son.. .He is not giving us what we deserve according to His perfect justice...death. So because of His love and mercy He provides grace, becoming sin for us...available to all freely and equally...the outstretched hand with a gift.
Remember we are talking about the perfect love, grace and mercy of God, which knows no bounds. Forgiveness is also freely given UPON accepting God's gift. Don't forget that in accepting Christ as our personal Savior only means that God counts us as sinless or righteous because of the blood of the lamb, which became sin for us. "We love Him because He first loved us" The focus is totally on the nature of God, who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Yes I know all of that. I’ve been a Christian for many years, and I’ve read the Bible several times myself, and I’m reading through it right now.
The fact of the matter is you’re forgetting to discuss that God hates sin, he hates evil. Without the covering of Christ’s blood, people will not be receiving mercy at the judgment seat. That’s the point I’m trying to make.
Mercy is not for everyone! Unfortunately, but that’s a fact. As much as God loves us unconditionally, and has giving Christ as appreciation for our sins, on judgment day without Christ blood covering us, and covering our sins, mercy will not be had by those people.
I understand what you are saying. You said "mercy is not for everyone" but that is different than saying " not everyone accepts God's mercy" I contend that God's mercy is for everyone...He really would love for Soros, Clinton etc to repent and accept the "gift" of God's salvation. Nonetheless we may disagree on semantics but we agree on the love of God and salvation through Christ. That is what's important.
God tells us that love is the most important part. Love Him, and love our neighbor. We must, even if it is hard.
At this point it is so hard to feel merciful to such evil.
Matthew 5:44-46
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
It's hard to forgive the people who not only curse us and hate us, but also use us and persecute us, especially when we realize it's only because we're on the side of truth.
The Eurythmics released a song called Sweet Dreams in the 1980s-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeMFqkcPYcg
This song contained a warning for truth seekers and tried to brainwash them into a policy of self censorship to prevent even more hardships.
Then you will join in with them.
Look to Romans chapters 1, 2. Where Paul mentions all those sins. And then in chapter 2 says, and all you join in with them. We cannot cheer on our fellow brethren’s demise, and expect not share with them the same sins. We are all in this together. It may be difficult, but you have to try. Wishing or hoping for ones demise because of their evil actions, only dooms us as well. Truth hurts my brother. But we have to be better than that.
I do pray that they repent and turn from their wicked ways and let the truth come out.
If not, they're on their own. God is merciful with his children, but every so often, he has to reset things a little.
Hopefully we will see one of those times soon
1st pray for our country
2nd pray we can snap all the young Americans out of this silly wokeness and their mental health that our state funded schools have been teaching them .even if you home school now. The communist have had control for decades. Lots of damage done ..
3rd pray for our enemies at their funeral. Not before
I remember an anecdote where a Sunday School teacher asked her students what do you think Jesus did after He died but before He resurrected and a kid answered: "He went looking for His friend Judas." The deep staters may have rejected Christ and sided with the enemy, but this does not cancel out God's love for them or His desire that they repent and turn from their evil ways.
This would imply that there are limits on the infinite love and mercy of God. As bad as ritual human sacrifice is, it pales in comparison to Jesus Christ, the son of God, being murdered on the cross. And if God can forgive humanity for this abominable crime, then he can even forgive luciferians who sincerely repent of their sins.
They should definitely 100% receive the death penalty from an earthly judge because in justice that is what they deserve. But as far as before the tribunal of God, we should pray that they turn around from their evil and repent.
And what is the unpardonable sin? To blaspheme the HS? That's just the refusal to repent. Careful how you mete out vengeance because that is how it will be meted back to you.
If blasphemy against the HS is to spill innocent then the Crucifixion is the unpardonable and so no forgiveness would be possible.
Luke 6:32-36
Heavenly Father, heal the evildoers of their ignorance and help us to stop them from hurting themselves and others as soon as possible.
Every knee will bow. EVERYONE..even Satan WILL bow to GOD. 🙏
Sadly, I agree
You are right. It is very hard to forgive enemies and all they have done. And in our prayers we will remember to ask Christ our God to always have mercy upon their souls, as we wish mercy will be granted upon each of our souls as well. Thank you for reminding us Anon. God bless you and your family for thinking of such.
If they do not repent, they can go to hell where they belong. All have been given ample chances to redeem themselves.
I'll pray for their souls AFTER theyve exited their bodies, not before.
It's too late then. If you believe me to be wrong, please point me to where in the bible that says we should be praying for the souls of the departed.
i was being facetious, but were no where near winning this fight so im not yet ready to worry about these demons souls.
It doesn't sound strange at all. It's what we are called to do.
I agree to a point, but disagree that those who knowingly and enthusiastically perpetuated this evil should be shown mercy.
I will pray to God that mercy be shown to those who were sheep and were blind to, or ignored the signs, while following the plan of our enemies out of ignorance. I'm speaking of those who took the jab because that's what they were told to do, and they didn't want to lose their possessions (despite mountains of information proving its true nature and intent), or those who were following orders without fully understanding the harm being done (law enforcement, healthcare workers, etc.)
I will not pray for those who engineered and architected this evil plan. Those with whom I speak of ravaged children, openly terrorized others, spread the message of degeneracy in the name of Satan (Hollywood), conducted vile experiments on people and animals, all with the goal of bringing the iron fist of evil and misery over God's beautiful creation.
No, I simply cannot pray that they receive mercy.
Nah, they can burn in hell for all I care.
Mmmm, naaaaw
If you ever sin you have been against Him
I do. We are all sinners. When we sin we turn against God. We need to put our faith in Jesus because we can’t save ourselves.
God wants all of His children to join him in heaven.
He wants contrition and offers forgiveness in the sacrifice made by his most dear son Jesus.
If all of his enemies turned from their evil and did that, He would forgive them.
We all have evil in our hearts, some more than others, and none of it is acceptable to God in heaven.
Pray for God's mercy through faith in Jesus and be saved.
