Phantom - best comics. Never went mainstream but was huge in India. I was reading some of them online recently, and the constant theme is a deep state that he keeps fighting.
For anyone interested here is the link to the original collection (online): https://viewcomics.me/comic/the-phantom-1962
There were additional collections going all the way to 80s.
Looks like we found a new Q mascot! He can join Pepe and the horse.
I second this motion!
Don't forget Pepe's cousin Honkler!
Bookmarked. Than Q!
Well, fren, I hope you will become a "Fan"tom - a stupid name I made up for fans of Phantom lol
Can they be downloaded?
Unfortunately that site doesn't included comics from 1957
Got this from wiki...looks like generally the character been around since the 30s:
The Phantom is a fictional costumed crime-fighter who operates from the fictional country of Bangalla. The character was created by Lee Falk for the adventure comic strip The Phantom, which debuted in newspapers on February 17, 1936. The Phantom was later depicted in many forms of media, including television shows, movies, and video games.
Thank you...Good find...
Who double checks things anyway, and OP made some internet points.
My overly long comment here might be of interest:

Do we know what issue this is from?
I don't know what those comics didn't do better. They were pretty good.
The Valley of No Return - Here is the unedited original

The Princess Bride also has a line about masks and how everyone will be wearing them in the future.
Yes but just remember he wore a mask to remain anonymous. Which is how I interpret his meaning, and it's true we anons are all wearing masks, but of the digital kind.
Ah! 💡
All I can think about is Billy Zane now
I know this is a dumb question, but the link you provided seems to have the earliest phantom as 1966. The Meme says 1957. Are there earlier comics and this link site just doesn’t go back far enough, or is the meme inaccurate?
with a punisher image on the belt? sauce please. smells like a fabrication.
First of all, its not the Punisher...Its a skull...It only took 2 clicks to find out...You shouldn't be so lazy...Make sure before you call me out....

did not look for the punisher symbol. I clicked through several of the old magazines looking for the frame with the "china virus," and as I suspected, the text has been changed. perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to accept such an extraordinary claim.

No, phantom had a skull icon as well. He had a ring with a skull on it too https://storage.googleapis.com/hipcomic/p/4a3aac9f814009d03a49808123d29667-800.jpg
Twelve cents. Gosh, those were the days! My spouse and I were just talking about how we would get off the school bus, and run into the little country store and grab a bunch of candy for ten cents before walking home. This weekend, we grabbed a package of Wacky Wafers at a candy store for old times sake. It was $3!!!
Those were the glory days
