A group of Jews perjured themselves before a Roman court to instigate the murder of their own God in the flesh. So they were at least as guilty as Pilate the Roman governor, and far more guilty than Roman soldiers following orders.
In the Gospel of Matthew, a mixed group of elite Jews and street Jews (similar to Kenosha cannon fodder) screamed to Pilate that the blood guilt of murdering the Son of God would be on their own heads and those of their descendants forever. However, since those particular Jews were corrupt and murderous already, they had no legal authority to commit God's future judgment in such a manner. Gibson, under pressure, took that particular phrase out of the final cut.
In John's Gospel, he called those people "The Jews." I suspect he was being a bit sarcastic, as they controlled the temple, sometimes controlled the holy city with riots, and essentially thought they were the only real Jews. There were lots of other Jews in Jerusalem, Judea, Galilee, Damascus, Cyprus, Egypt, and even in Rome. They never got a say in all this.
Jesus is considered as being of Judah, certainly. However, even in this narrow case of who is a Jew it's really the Kingdom of Judah - which includes both the tribes of Judah and Benjamin - and some fraction of Levi.
How is “the passion of the Christ” anti Semitic?
Joos gonna joo
Says Jews killed Jesus instead of the Romans. Pretty sure that was the jist of it.
but.. the jews had the romans do it...

But I thought "just following orders" is never a valid excuse?
More specifically, the Pharisees.

Kek
Jesus was Jewish.
So... The Jews didn't believe him to be the messiah and still don't. They killed him as a heretic.
I thought the real Jews were of the tribe of Judah. Does his lineage follow that? Most of the Jews of today trace to eastern Europe. ie. not Jews.
Correct. :)

I’m definitely a Mel Gibson fan and proud of it.
What's wrong with Mel? I like him, he speaks the truth.
“The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” —Mel Gibson 2006
Damn he’s been awake since at least 2006 then
Yeah what do you mean not a Mel Gibson fan?
