ah yes Kwanzaa, the made up holiday from the 60s/70s? to try and promote African heritage to young black girls and boys instead of celebrating christian teachings of a WHITE guy who gave gifts to the poor. I think those kids wanted more gifts than teachings of a country they where never apart of.
For a group of people who only have the culture they ever known as "American", why would they want to be African is beyond me.
I don't know many actual things that are African culture. Now i know places like Egypt are in Africa with a rich history and culture, but i don't know many actual "Black" African countries that have a culture that people would get in to.

BTW just as many African nations mentioned in the Christian part of the Bible (Egypt & Ethiopia) as there are European (Rome & Greece) so it's as much an African religion as it is European.
I can't remember his name, but there is a black American preacher who talks about the subject of blacks and what they do once they gain power & control over an area. He says they have no sense as a collective and destroy just about everything they've ever been given. His congregation is mostly black and agrees with everything he says.

Kwanza was created in 1966 in Watts/Inglewood CA. In Southern CA, Why, I do not know. I thought it was silly (still do). I do remember in grade school, it wasn't even mentioned, let alone, celebrated.
Fun fact: Mexicans in Mexico do not celebrate Cinco de Mayo because they do not know what that is! It is a marketing ploy to sell stuff!
