Any theories as to why Trump didn't continue to harp on about this? The birth certificate that was provided was so obviously fake it was a joke. Maybe it was too early to start the culling of the deep state?

People forget, the Obama's White House website posted a bad fake one originally, pulling it down rather quickly.
That's enough evidence right there. Why would one EVER create a fake one?
I'm always kind of surprised at all the mistakes and blunders they make.
They likely felt like they literally controlled everything, so why bother being so meticulous. Perhaps we've also had many more frens on the inside all along...making some intentional blunders and leaving these behind crumbs.
That's kind of what I thought. Why would they care if they made mistakes the slaves might notice. Hubris. being an illegitimate president (Kenyan citizen), which would destroy his "legacy" and his ego (plus, what does that do to legislation, executive orders, pardons, etc.?) but potentially (cowardly?) save his life or
being a legitimate, first black president (American citizen) but also subject him to treason charges which which would also destroy his "legacy" and his ego and could cost him his life via a death sentence

He trolled the press as only he can. He called a presser and then was late and no one knew what he was going to say. He took the podium and simply stated Obama was American and that was that.
