I was so fucked up on drugs and getting into trouble and not giving a shit in high school that I thing I missed the brainwashing memo. I guess something good did come out of that hellish nightmare.
Some teachers are ok...the people who run the school district and have master degrees in "education" are the real problem. The schools now look like giant mansions with brand new technology and the kids are not bennefitting from it at all. As a property tax paying citizen it chaps my ass
Federal and state money is thrown at the most underachieving schools, when those students would benefit most from personal attention and not the keyboard.
More like 100% of our problems can be traced to Public Education.
Hardly any Education is being dispensed
It’s continuous ‘Day-care’ for kids all the way up to late teens
A Tax $ sink where our Tax dollars are used in the most inefficient way possible
Mediocrity is the ‘Standard’
… I could go on.
The ONLY people who would want to keep these schools are the useless Liberal teachers or those who are so ingrained in the system they can’t see an alternate view.
Have you ever seen a list of the cost/student of public schools around the country? It's so ridiculous! There are some school districts here in NY, where, because of special education requirements, and likely bussing expenses, the cost per student is over $30,000/yr. School districts with costs per student in the $25,000/yr range are very common, with it probably likely that no district has less than $20,000/yr per student now. (now you've got me curious and I need to look it up again; but it will just make me mad! :) )
I’m with you on this one. Totally removing “education” is the only way forward. How we got to this point is beyond me. It’s like school is making people more stupid. My 5 year old came home talking crazy things the other day. I’m over it.
Public education can be blamed for about 80% of our problems.
Cut out the cancer and replace it with nothing.

NY now requires ALL public school teachers to get a Masters degree!
Terrible. You know how to tell if someone is a teacher? Because they tell you every 5 minutes. Same joke applies to nurses lol
You forgot vegans.
People who have to tell you their profession or "expertise" bona fides always start with "as a _____________"
And people from Texas!

The kindergarten teacher that lives on my street makes $89,000 a year. Plus benefits.
