I don't have little ones anymore, my kids are grown but do have grandkids and you better believe I will be showing my kids this and telling them to keep a lookout for them. They are vigilant with their kids so I doubt something like this will creep into what the kids are watching or playing without them catching it.
I actually am familiar with the team who developed this game. There isn't an ill intent here, but there is a huge word of caution to watch what your children consume.
Poppy's Playtime is geared to an "amusement horror" genre that usually targets millennial gamers (similar to FNaF fame) using toys that look and act nostalgic. Let's be real, the last non-licensed toys happened for millennials. It's not teaching children to "kill their parents." Huggy Wuggy is only in like 5% of the game (so far, it is episodic).
However, the cute nature let's a lot of parents believe it's a kids game, and with all the offbrand merch helps cement this factoid. Many parents are lazy and this ends up permeating into the school yards where it honestly shouldn't be discussed.
I agree with you. It isn't for kids. Anything harmful is coming from the internet surrounding the game and making up dumb stuff. BTW Kissy Missy got "rule 34ed" just... no... why you even... it's so gross.
Not defending it, but Rule 34 probably exists because of how isolated males are, how encouraged mistreatment of males have been, and how glorified sexual content has become.
Surely a huge mix of of other reasons, but I believe these are the catalysts as to why. The mixture to distract and demoralize with dopamine addictions.
This is so true and there are others. I heard my 6 year old niece watching a show made for her age group and they were saying. Oh, you just had a baby! How exciting. Oh, my god. Your baby is so ugly, it will (and they kept calling it it, twice) be shunned( that wasn’t the right word, it was a word from the Bible I just can remember at the moment), you need to kill it right now.
Then she changed the YouTube channel. About an hour later a different kids program, little girls talking and then I heard a teenage or young man male voice so my ears went in to overdrive… the girl said, im having a party at my house. The boy said, oh your parents are letting you have a party. She said no they will be gone. I need to to come over and take care of me and spend the night while they are away.
I am about to go through the YouTube (you have to use a computer to block a channel), but say your kid speaks in to google remote or whatever… “show me huggy wuggy”. The request to watch overrides the block, at least it was that way a few years ago when I wanted to block Ryan’s World (because my son starting thinking toys were suppose to magically pop up when he was around 2-3).
Sounds like you need to go to settings and Clear Watch/Search History and Turn Restricted Mode On. The creepy shows should stop autoplaying at least until the kids search for it again.
My 5 year old was drawing pictures of it and my wife put a stop to Huggy. I did not know what was going on until she explained.

Ah yes the Latest newfangled "Creepypasta"
And by God do I hate it
Hell, most gamers groan over this crap too.
Cheap, episodic jump scares playing on the uncanny valley for YouTube clicks.
Is this the new Momo? Ugh! So sick! Thanks for the warning!
Yep. It absolutely is
Here’s an article with some videos about it...

Edit to say ... This is not me, I saw it on FB and wanted to share.
Lemme give you a list of things you should NOT allow your kids see:
Horror parodies of popular franchises, will possibly scar your youth for life
The Ring inspired scary videos on YouTube
Most of them are of the Horror genre, often rated R15+ and not family friendly.
See "Elsagate" for details. Actually just don't let your kids watch YouTube
It's Porn. Need I say more?
Just don't let your kids watch youtube, period. There is no safety net.
You can watch things with them. There is a ton of amazing content and if you use vanced or brave browser, there are 0 ads.
On their own, I agree. Too easy to get sucked into propaganda and disney channels.
I played this game with my kids. It's supposed to be scary, you run from it. It never said to kill anyone in the game. shrug we had a good laugh.

Reminds me of how Pokemon Go makes kids more likely to wander around too far from home and get abducted.
And maps our geography and meeting places for the chinese
Apparently my 6 year old has seen it, he just told me kissy missy lives with huggy wuggy.

I have seen these and thought there was just something not right about it
Suffer not for the heretics to live.
Take your kids out of this school, now.
This is not me that wrote that, someone shared it on FB and thought I’d share it here in case folks here have seen this. My kids are all grown now.
