All the material issues in addition to the entire LCS program being a complete cluster fuck. Ships not capable for the missions the billions were spent for, not able to travel in minimal ice conditions. Not the designed range to cross oceans. Not fast enough.
Shame on us for not doing our own independent metallurgy testing to authenticate the COA’s (certificates of analysis) that come with every load of materials you source from a vendor. Not doing this testing and simply trusting the source for this level of military manufacturing seems highly incompetent at best but more likely malevolent in nature - was someone on our side being paid off to accept subpar steel and then fraudulently report random quality inspections?

Yes. I can’t find it, but either Japan or Taiwan admitted to forging subpar steel and selling it to us anyway.
