However, yesterday, I found out that San Diego Unified's new superintendent, Lamont Jackson, is going to introduce a version of "equity learning" by dumbing down the advanced math and science courses. Sigh.
SDUSD parents are already worn out from fighting the mask mandate (we won only one month ago) and the vaccine mandates (still a pending fight) for our kids. San Diego Unified is the same district that sent teachers to the homeless shelters for the illegal border crossers so the immigrants could get in person instruction, while simultaneously keeping the schools closed to in-person learning for SD residents and requiring all the district's children to do distance learning. Last year, it was a fight to get the schools to open (which didn't happen until the school year was almost over!) Now we have to fight to protect our kids ability to get a decent education.
It is unbelievable to me that every parent hasn't taken off the blinders yet.
Don't forget the AFT. American Federation of Teachers... It was found that the NEA and the AFT spent 93% of its budget on the DNC in 2020... I refer you to Ashlanddog Unleashed for the sauce...
Been singing this with a choir of others for many many years now. You can trace its beginning (of the end) to 1963 when the supreme clowns took prayer and God out of school. Just look at whats happened since to present day.
IIRC, the Feds got more involved because of the disparity with some states having high scores and others lower. It was to even these out so all children would get a good education. Instead, the Feds have made sure all schools and our children/grandchildren are lagging in what they're taught. They want to dumb down all of them.
