Thank you u/judypatriot and u/spanglevision for bringing our world into Starship Troopers land, even if one of you did it accidentally. The Starship Troopers documentary is one of the greatest expose's of all time, and you both really hit the nail on the head with doing your respective parts.
When I first saw that documentary (long after I had read the book), it was something of a wake up call. I could see the sardonic commentary intended, and how it applied directly to our world. Unfortunately, at the time it was not yet a loud enough statement for me to see the bigger picture, but those words so wonderfully captured the absurdity, that those two lines had a tremendous impact on my world view.
"I did my part," and "Would you like to know more?" perfectly exemplify the sheeple aspect of our society. They show how we are lead through a prescribed path, how compliance is manipulated through rhetoric and a lack of choice, and how we choose to self-sacrifice "for the greater good" by these forced paths and manipulations. These elements are among the largest motivators for our descent into oblivion; main buttons of control of The Matrix.
Good movie, book was better IMO. Took itself seriously and dated though it was, had a better message than the campy movie.
Power suits are awesome, and the discipline scene took on a more realistic tone than the movie for what happened. Still a training scene, but the accident was simulated, and involved nukes. Never shoot nukes from the hip.
This is the equivalent of reading a book on US history written by Trotsky.
Hahaha, noice.

Did my part!
Would you like to know more?
Thought I was pretty deep in the know, but do tell!
That's my bad. I thought you were referencing those campy commercials from the movie Starship Troopers, where they say, "I did my part," and "Would you like to know more?"
You're here and thus you are in the know fren :)

Okay you have convinced me to add this to my watchlist
The first one is brilliant satire, the follow ups, not so much.
Read the other 1 star comments, frens, and give them a doot, too. (Just watch out for the couple of comments that are definitely NOT pro-Q.)
done
Hahaha, noice.
