Nicotine in your body makes it harder to catch Covid. I’m sure that has nothing to do with this.
Seems if your ace 2 receptors are all filled with nicotine or other then there is nowhere for covid to enter a cell. Is like musical chairs.

Interesting new study released a few weeks ago.
57 year old identical twin males live together. Both got covid. One is a current smoker, the other a former smoker. The current smoker experienced less severe symptoms. The researchers believe it's due to the nicotine.

Edit: I figured this out years ago when I saw Kay Bailey Hutchison support a law/amendment/something to prevent the burning of the US Flag while simultaneously supporting the Patriot Act. BTW, burning of the US Flag is protected free speech.
